Totally Cool!I don't know what all ya'll are complaining about. The flat iron and curling iron both get really hot and curl and straight very well. If your hair being snagged or pulled, then you need to learn how to use a curling iron/flat iron, because it works perfectly fine for me. With all curling irons you have to be careful in the way you curl. Don't blame it on the tool just because you can't curl hair!! It's totally worth the moneyposted Dec 22, 2010Link to this post -

Rips Your HairI really wanted a combo flat iron/curling iron since I enjoy straightening my hair but having the option to have big smooth curls (I have naturally curly hair), and I chose CHI because of their reputation. However, this particular model works poorly on my hair. I constantly have hair getting stuck and ripping strands out. The design also does not make it easy to use as you really have to keep your hand closed tightly otherwise your hair will easily slip out. I'm not happy with this product and tried to return it for something else but it was too late. I plan to purchase the Solia after reading all the wonderful reviews. I'm going to just go with a regular flat iron and hopefully one will not rip out my hair.posted Mar 16, 2010Link to this post

It Does Get Up To 400 DegreesOn the iron it says 200c...So that is at least over 350 degrees F. It takes some getting use to, but I like it. I like to wear my hair smooth on top and big curls everywhere else. I don't have to plug in more than 1 iron.posted Nov 29, 2009Link to this post

Don't Recomend Itthis chi straightens your hair very nicely but occasionally your hair gets caught in it and ripps it out . if your hair shoulder-length or shorter it will not curl your hair very well . if you have long hair it curls pretty good . i have shoulder-length hair so it doesn't curl my hair very well . . . but it straightens it quickly and doesn't damage your hair as much as other flat irons do . it is excellent that you can change the heat settings . all in all its pretty good if you have long hair . i had this chi for about 6 months but now it won't turn on . so i don't recomend it .posted Sep 1, 2009Link to this post

Not Worth ItI purchased this item because I wanted a 2-in-1 curling iron/flat iron. The concept is absolutely great, but this product is not. The maximum temperature setting is 200 as opposed to what the description states (400). My Sedu flat iron set at 325 does a great job. This Chi at 200 does a lousy job. Both using as a flat iron and curling iron were cumbersome and pulled on my hair rather than sliding through the plates. Also the plates are "coated" ceramic. And to add insult to injury, it is ugly. Worth ItIm one of those girls that curl and flattens my hair. So this 2 in 1 was perfect. Before my routine was using the regular curling iron and then finishing off with the flat iron to get that smooth framing around my face. Now I dont have to plug 2 appliances up.
