Lovesss It!Ive had my pink Chi for a year now, and its one of the best purchases I made with my maxed out credit card! Yeah, it does snag sometimes, but thats because I have split ends in some places. No one ever said that a flat iron would IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF YOUR HAIR. They only said it will make it straight and shiny.. so some people need to get that clear. But I really do love my Chi. It comes EVERYWHERE with me. It heats up quickly. I see a lot of people have had problems with their cords but I havent yet. ** There are covers you can by for straighteners people.. I think they really do help. They are heat retardant. I believe they are by Vera Bradley. My room mate is always stealing my pink Chi and she has an original Chi but loves mine! I would recommend it to anyone.

Amazing....I was told about the product from a good friend! When she introduced it to me she said that she was amaze as the results. I had to see it for myself to be the judge on that. She showed me and I was just shocked on how quick and easy it took for her to do her hair. I searched for the CHI and found this website and purchased it! I dont leave my house without it. Lovelovelove It!I recently got my Pink Chi.Its not the same color as the one featured here, its more of a hot pink with sparkles but the color was only an added bonus!Im half-black so naturally my hair is kinky and fuzzy and whatnot, so I had it chemically straightened. Bummed Out :(Okay so I bought my CHI straightner like July 2007 and its only April 2008 and I was straightning my hair like an hour ago cause Im getting ready for a friends party. But then a few minutes later I smell something burning, next thing I know the on and off switch button was somewhat melting :S and I havent even had the straightner on for like 10 minutes. So of course for my own safety, I unplugged it and let it cool down for a few minutes. Then later on, I tried turning it on again and it wouldnt work anymore =( there goes my $207.00 *sigh. But truth be told, it was an awesome straightner. Im just mad at the fact that it stopped working out of nowhere and I took very good care of it. Not Worth The Money At All!!so i got this chi as a gift from my mom and i have to say it WAS NOT worth the money!! whats with all the hype about the chis anyway?? its cute and thats about it. for one it damaged my hair and fried it to a crisp and made the ends white (isnt this supposed to be an upscale, salon flat iron?) well its not! since my mom spend a lot of money on it i continued to use it until a year later when i went to plug it in and it started making this popping noise and smoke was coming out of it!!! not only did it cost a lot,damage my hair, and begin to rust after a couple months, it BLEW UP! i will never buy another chi..i just ordered a sedu and would recommend not wasting your money on this product!!posted Apr 18, 2008Link to this post

Dangerous!!!After 10 months of use, my CHI overheated. The plastic began to melt and the ceramic plates fell off - but not before it burnt a section of my hair so severely that all that remains is a 1 inch singed mess (I had long hair). I am so disappointed that a product this expensive is not only no good, but actually dangerous, due to poor quality! For what we are paying for these irons, youd think theyd invest in decent parts and an overall quality product. I believe 100% that if I had walked away (I have a 3 yr old - it happens) while my CHI was overheating and not been present to unplug it when I realized what was happening, that it would have started a fire. It was just getting hotter and hotter - a fire is bound to happen because of this dishonest and greedy company. How many homes may have been lost already??? I might add that I have NEVER abused my CHI, I loved it. I had to save money to get it and knew I wouldnt easily be able to replace it, so I would not abuse it, or allow others to use it. I also did not wrap the cord at all. This is just ridiculous. The only positive is that my awesome salon is returning the CHI, so I dont have to worry about CHIs shoddy customer service myself. Not Worth The Money...I bought my Chi last August and last week when I plugged it in it wouldnt turn on. When i jiggled the cord a little, it made like sizzling sounds and only works half the time now! I then called the Farouk Systems customer service as it says to do in your warranty booklet... to be informed that Folica is not an authorized vendor to sell the Chi and therefore they wouldnt replace it. Folica does cover the chi for 1 year if you call and let them know that you spoke with Farouk and they claimed them an unauthorized dealer. I love it and it works great, WHEN it works!
