ChiI have this flat iron and I would not recommend to anyone. This is my second CHI Flat Iron The first one I bought and within 6 months it stopped working say I called farouk who makes CHI and they told me to send in along with $15.00 well it took about 6 weeks and they sent another one this time a limited edition pink where as before it was red with hearts. well this iron does not straighten my hair it does not seem to get hot enough. My friends all have the original black and I will own me one. The problem I think is in the plug and the reset switch on the plug my friends do not have this type of plug and it is awesome.posted Nov 1, 2008Link to this post -

It Is The Best.. But...I have had my Chi for a year and four months. The past couple of times I have used it I started smelling something burning, like plastic. Well when I used again (and for the last time) when I went to turn it off and it would not switch to off it was stuck so I finally forced it to the off position and now it wont switch to the on position anymore it is stuck on off. I think it some how was heated on the inside and melted the plastic on/off switch.. since this is past a year the warranty does not cover it :/ MY ADVICE: get a Chi but one with at least a two year warranty!posted Sep 6, 2008Link to this post -

Not Really Worth ItThis iron gets really hot, you can barely touch it. I asked my stylist the temperature this iron gets and she says about 400, no wonder it straightens!!!! super hot, its like the oven!!! when you have colored, highlighted hair, such irons do nothing but damage your hair bad. Better Than My Pink Soliai loved my solia dont get me wrong but it was really stiff and the pink faded after just a few uses.so once it as on its last leg i decided to get a chi.I LOVE MY CHI!!it doesnt pull my hair it really does make it feel softer.not more fried.i have sort of thick hair and it made my hair look really thin.posted Aug 19, 2008Link to this post

Beware...damages Hair!!!Yes, all flat irons will damage your hair but this one really takes the cake. It was not any better than the much less expensive Hot Tools iron. I didnt realize it until I switched back to my Sedu iron. Do yourself a favor, pink is cute but get any Sedu iron over this one. Your hair will thank you.posted Aug 18, 2008Link to this post

BummerMy sister and I both have thick curly hair, so we finally got a Chi straightener and loved how it straightened our hair. We loved it so much infact, that when it stopped working we both went and bought ourselves one. Therefore we each had our own now. I bought mine about 8 months ago and it doesnt work anymore and hers will work about every three days, if that. Not The BestI had this straighten for a little over a year and it just died on me one day for no reason!!! wat a waste of a hundred dollars!! make sure u get one with a real warranty!!
