DisatisfiedWhen I first got my chi it deserved a five star rating, but as I used this product it went dramatically downhill. Within a few months of having the product it started to malfunction for example it wouldn't heat up the way it was built to do and would turn off by its self in the middle of straighening. Now after having this product for around eight months it will not even turn on. I would consider shopping around before I wasted my money on this product. So Far, So Great!I wanted a flat iron that gave me the "just came back from the hair salon" look, and my digital Chi is the next best thing. I originally owned another expensive, so-called professional flat iron that burnt my hair and stopped working properly after a year. I could have exchanged it for a new one, but I was really unhappy with that flat iron in general.
So far, I'm much happier with my Chi. My only complaint is that I had to go over the same pieces of hair more than once to get it perfectly straightened, but I like how I can change the "flip" of my hair with this tool. Chi Digital Ceramic Flat Iron Does Amazing Results To My HairI just got my Chi Digital Ceramic Flat Iron, I love it! I used to have the Chi Original and I had it for about 6 years before it stopped working. I enjoyed it for about 6 years. So I decided to order the digital one this time and I must say Chi flat iron continue to impress me and my hair, this new one I got does exactly the Chi original and more. The heat temperature control is great. My hair is pinning straight and feels so light, feel great. Also, I like the black purse that comes with it; itâ??s easy to pack to go when I travel.

The ceramic coated plates help seal the hair cuticle and give sleek and shiny results !! Without snagging or pullng. Heat is distributed evenly so there is no fuzzy ends.
The only thing weird about this iron is the positioning of the buttons. That's all. And I can deal with that. BUT this iron works wonders with my hair. I bought it for $249 at a salon because I am quite nervous about authenticity.

This Is The New Chi Iron To Own!!!If I could take back my earlier review of the CHI Original flat iron that I posted last month I would. I give it 1 star and not the 5 stars deserving of its original predecessor --which I was expecting when I ordered a new one after my old CHI original broke after 4.5 years. The reason: the latest version of the CHI original shows poor manufacturing/workmanship -- easily prone to damage from ordinary use, and it looks and feels like a toy flat iron, not a professional hot iron. The latest CHI Originals are NOTHING like the ones manufactured 4-5 years ago!! In short, they're cheap quality. Because of this I sent back the new one I ordered, and instead ordered this wonderful CHI Digital flat iron.
The workmanship on this CHI Digital iron closely resembles the earlier versions of the CHI original (except with the added bonus of being able to digitally set the temperature), and is fantastic!! The iron heats up super fast! It feels and glides just like the original, ORIGINAL CHI. And the beautiful state in which my hair is left yields shine and compliments galore. This iron delivers what I've come to expect from the CHI brand and a whole lot more... This is the professional quality that had once become synonymous with the CHI name.
Because I prefer to wear my hair curly as often as I wear it straight, I can set this iron at 170C without damaging my curl pattern one bit, when washed -- a problem that I gradually became aware of with my old CHI. The lower temp setting allows for more volume yet sufficiently seals the hair cuticle for shine. Higher temps are better for pin straight, flat styles but these days I avoid those to limit/prevent damage to the hair.
I would highly recommend this CHI as a purchase for the affordability and quality!!
Was going to buy a GHD, but with this iron, there's just no need and I have the benefit of digital temperature control! (The GHD classic flat irons resemble more the ORIGINAL CHI than the latest original CHI's do, but with a whopper of a price tag).
An aside: I already own a SEDU which neither measures up to my old CHI and can't even remotely compare to this one.
CHI DIGITAL: Deserves 5 stars, but will reserve 1 star because I'd like to see how long this iron will last in the long run, compared to my old CHI anyway!!!posted Jul 1, 2010Link to this post -

Exact Like Original But DigitalI do like this iron, it's just like the original but here is what i like and what i do not like. I like the digital adjustable setting (original doesn't have that), ceramic plates. I do not like the big plug, i do not like it is not tourmaline ceramic plates and i always hit the digital off button key cause its where your hands go to do your hair.
