DelanaDallas, GAIn Love With This Product!!I had my CHI flat iron for 3 years before my little sister stepped on it and broke it. The best straightener I have ever used. I would recommend it to anyone. I also have VERY curly hair so the fact that it gets that straight that fast is absolutely miraculous. The best!!posted May 15, 2008Link to this post

Neicey36nHouston, TXWonderfulI bought the turbo about two years ago and it still works like new. I am Africian American and it works on my hair. The key to using this flat iron for Africian American women is the make sure that you hair is clean and put a little kemi oil in it before using the iron. I highly recommended CHI and it is worth the money.posted Feb 22, 2008Link to this post

CalcbunnyGeorgiaDisapointment!I purchased a CHI...it worked great the 2 times I got to use it. It would not turn on after that. I contacted Chi as I missed the 30 day return window. They said they do not honor the warranty for internet purchases. Needless to say I am out over $100 bucks and very unhappy. NEVER AGAIN! Chi stinks, they dont stand by their junky products that probably cost them $1 to make.posted Feb 4, 2008Link to this post

KateAtlantaReliable When It WorksI purchased the CHI turbo may be more than year and a half ago, and it did work fine. Iâve never had any temperature control issues. I noticed though that in a long run but when the flat iron after every time I washed my hair, it started looking a little bit not as healthy as it did in the beginning. Soon after that, just like mentioned in some of the reviews, I just plugged it in one day and it did not start. I think that for the money I paid, I deserve something more reliable!!! So ladies, be aware and prepared: one day, sooner or later when you are in a hurry and want to fix your hair, your magic CHI turbo will not start....posted Nov 23, 2007Link to this post

AmyleeaArizonaGet The Original Chi, Not The Turbo!I must have done something wrong, or maybe it was the different temperatures this iron has to go through in order to heat up, but I had to do 3 passes for each hair strand. My hair is not even curly, it is however very frizzy, thick and can be unmanageable. I got this from my hair salon, and I must say, after paying such an amount of money, I was completeley disappointed. I exchanged it after 3 months at my hair salon, and the manager looked at me suspiciously, as if I was returning a defect product.I wasnt! The Chi worked the same from day one. It was heavy on my small wrist, hard to use on bangs, and time consuming. It was never hot enough. i wanted to exchange it for a GHD, but the store would not give me cash back when I returned the CHI. Then an African American lady told me I shoul exchange the CHI turbo for the original. Which I did. What a difference! Though I still secretly long for GHD, my hair is silky straight and looks like it was done at a salon by a professional.Get the original, instead of the clunky, heavy CHI Turbo. The original has a preset temperature, and this is better than having a temp control, because the temp control does not work.Maybe the preset temp is the reason why the Sedu, the original CHI and the GHD get fantastic reviews, while the T3 and the Turbo get less favourable reviews. In order to prolong the life of your CHI never ever wrap the cord around the hair straightener, and dont forget about it, going around your bussiness, maybe reading or cleaning the house while it is plugged in and on.Never drop it and handle it with care, at least thats what the instructions say.posted Sep 21, 2007Link to this post

NikkiOhioHairCurly HairChi Vs. Generic ChiI have been in the beauty industry for over 8 years. I hope this helps someone! After going through hundreds of dollars and 2 Farouk Chi irons, I had given up!Let me start by telling you that Sallys owns the large group of beauty stores that sells the high end products that upscale salons purchase their retail from. This is a FACT!Tired of putting out so much money for the CHI, I called Sallys and asked them for advice on something that is similar to the Chi, but not as expensive. They reccommended the Generic Chi. I went in and purchase it, and they told me that I was not COMPLETELY satisfied I could return it for a FULL refund.I took it home and couldnt believe how well it worked! Its just as good, if not better and it was HALF THE PRICE!This is coming from a person who has owned 2 Chis (both of which broke after the 1 year warranty) and whom also has extreamly curly hair (spirals)! I would definatly say that it was a GREAT purchase!
