Do Not Buyit works extremely well, and i would have given it more stars if it actually continued to work. it makes your hair beautifully straight and so smooth, i got so many compliments...
BUT only buy if you plan on having this flat iron for 2 months. it should be called a fault iron because it is so faulty and unreliable. i have gone through 2 within the last year and customer service did nothing to help me with this issue. do not buy this flat iron because it only works for a limited amount of time. try a different brand, not this one!! it broke after two months of use and no longer turns on. i was really excited to purchase a name brand high quality flat iron because i had heard such good things about this brand and knew it was high-end and worked well, but i was wrong!!

Loved It But 14 Months Later It Wouldn't Turn OnMy husband gave me this straightener for my birthday last year and I have loved it ever since. It does a wonderful job on my hair, which is why I was devistated when it stopped working! Last week I turned it on and nothing happened. I tried a different outlet, hit the reset button and it wouldn't turn on. It is now 2 months past the 1 year warranty, so I am out the $100+ that we spent on it. If this were a cheaper product I might expect that but I was so dissapointed that an expensive product with a known reputation failed. I loved it while I had it, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Gets The Job Done, Lasts Years, But I'm Sure There's Better. (aka Mixed Feelings)I have had this straightener for a little over four years. I've traveled with it, I've done everything with it and it has held up so well. The top of the chord is starting to give out on me but seriously still works. butttt.....
It used to work perfectly on my wavy/slightly curly, lightly color treated hair, I loved it so so much. However it always made my hair very brittle and dry (just like applying heat to your hair does.)
This year have been coloring my hair more and paying attention to reviews of other straighteners and realized that that this hair straightener is extremely rough on my hair. It pulls my hair as I straighten it giving it a very dry look and feel to it. (I use high quality products to protect and reconstruct my hair. "It's A Ten", Various "Schwarzkopf" products, "Chi protectant spray" different hair oils)
So all in all, this Iron was great but I know there is better out there. Both Chi's that I have made my hair dry. I am going to try the "Sedu Revolution" and I hope that it will give me better results.

There Are Better Irons Out There!I've had this flat iron for about 4 or 5 years now and I am impressed with how long its has lasted, and still works as when I first purchased it. The problem is, I have medium/thick curly hair and on the highest heat setting, it still needs about 2 or 3 passes to make it straight. Maybe because I have to run it over the section so many times that after its straight, my hair feels really dry after. I bought this iron because of the high ratings, but I would definitely recommend trying a different iron. A few years back I had a Tourmaline T-3 from Sephora and that one was very good, but by far the best was an Aquage flat iron I had borrowed from a friend. Left Me With Amazing Hair, But...This Chi hair straightener left me with amazing hair! When I straightened my hair it didn't smell like it was burning or anything, which is always a plus to a hair product! It left my hair so straight, a little dull though! My hair is not too curly but it definitely has waves and its NOT straight at all underneath! With this hair straightener it took me only 15 minutes to look "salon good". So overall, yeah this straightener is good, BUT after about a year it just stopped working and would not turn on anymore! I look online and the warranty is only 1 year, so there is nothing I could do about it! So if you are like me and use your hair straightener more than three(3) times a week, I would suggest a hair straightener with a longer warranty because this CHI only has 1 year!posted Jun 22, 2011Link to this post

It's OkayLet me start off by saying, I absolutely loved my CHI Turbo 2 inch and I still can not believe Chi has replaced the Chi Turbo 2 inch with this new Turbo 1 1/2 inch. The Chi Turbo 2 inch was a superior hair straightener. I have thick curly hair down to my waist and the CHI Turbo would straighten it flawlessly. It was the most amazing flat iron I have ever had and was extremely sad when it finally stopped heating up after four years. I purchased the Chi Turbo 1 1/2 only because the Turbo 2 inch was discontinued. I am embarrassed for Chi that they call this new Turbo 1 and 1/2 inch the replacement. It seriously is not even in comparison to the Turbo 2 inch. The flat iron will heat up to 400 degrees or whatever temp you want and the second you pick the flat iron up and run it through your hair the temp will drop anywhere from 50-100+ degrees. Then you have to wait for it to heat back up all over again. Expect to do this repetitively until you manage to get all your hair straightened. Maybe it does that because all the settings have been changed to electronic but in any case it is a bad improvement Chi has made and It takes me three times as long to straighten my hair now. Soooo for all of you people out there that think this new Chi Turbo 1 and 1/2 inch is going to be the replacement to your Chi turbo 2 inch, think again. Folica clearly needs to read up on the quality of their products before nominating this flat iron as "the best". I would buy another discontinued Chi Turbo 2 from online anywhere even without a warranty and take my chances with it breaking before I would waste my money on this flat iron.posted May 22, 2011Link to this post

Get It StraightThis iron warms very fast...you have the options of temperature...the only thing I don't like is when you are using it, sometimes you can hit the buttons on top and it changes the temperature without you knowing it or it will close if you hit the on-off button...I try to keep my hand in the front of the iron, so I don't touch the buttons....its a bother for me, but I guess I will get use to it...other than that, its very performing.
