When It Worked, It Was Great...I spent more time trying to make sure it was heating up then doing my hair. It would randomly turn on and most of the time the light stayed on but it never got hot enough to do my hair. Then when it did get hot it didn't stay that way long enough to do all of my hair. Disappointing QualityI asked for this product and was given it as a gift last year. It seemed to work well at first and I took good care of it. Over the last month the LED on-light started flickering and the whole iron eventually stopped working altogether. Of course the warranty had just expired. I contacted the company and they said I would be sent a new one for an additional $35. I am not sure if I want another product from Farouk if the product only lasts a year. Really Greati have had this flat iron for nearly 6 years and it still works wonderfully.
BUT, i hear that it is not exactly made the same way it used to. i wouldn't buy a chi a second time because A: there is no heat setting, so its always VERY hot, and B: people i have talked to lately say they are just NOT made they same way they were years ago, and there are now way better products out there.
but from my personal experience, my chi, does a perfect job at straightening and curling my hair.

I love the results but for $100 it's not worth it. I used to LOVE CHI and tell everyone to get one and now I will not. 100% Best!!I have bought so many different brands of flat irons and this Chi by far is the best. I have naturally-curly, thick hair, and it makes it feel so smooth and silky. It feels like I just left the salon. I will never spend another penny on a Sedu or Hot Tools flat iron which have recieved higher reviews that Chi, but that is not true for me. Chi Used To Be The BestIn the past my CHI flatirons would last years, they definately do not make them like they used to. The one I currently have is a little over a year old, which makes it just past the warranty and it no longer heats properly. It sort of flickers off and on and wont reach the desired temp or stay hot enough. My first CHI lasted over 4 years. The last two died shortly after the 1 year is up. So frustrating. I will be replacing with a new brand. Don't waste your money, CHI no longer makes them like they used to. The Chi Works Amazing!i have had my chi for about 5 years, and always loved it. it makes my hair extremely shiny, silky, and soft. also, i have not noticed that it causes any damage to my hair. since it is getting old though, i decided to replace it but after seeing a bunch of hype on the instyler i decided to give that a try instead, which was a complete disappointment. thankfully i could return it. that experience made me notice what a great flat iron the chi is! i really love it! and i just recently learned to curl/wave my hair with it, it looks beautiful!! the next iron i get will most certainly be a new chi!posted Jan 28, 2011Link to this post

My ChiI have had my Chi for about 2 years now and have had NO problems! The light flickers on my Chi, but that lets me know it's ready. It gets hot quick and STAYS hot. I don't wrap the cord around my flat iron, so there won't be any short outs in the cord. I have naturally curly hair and I live in the deep South... humidity and frizz is a HUGE problem.
