Will Last ForeverI bought this iron after basic training in July 2006 from this same website after borrowing a friend's. It has worked well on my long hair for over 5 years now and still works. I gave the iron to my daughter when I bought a Croc (from another website), but the croc broke after a month. So now I'm back to using this iron again. It's definitely tried and true and I love that it comes with a pouch too. And I plan on buying another one from folica on payday. Beware Dont BuyI bought this product and i have had and original chi and i figured out this is a replica it doesnt even work the same as a chi does BEWARE this is a replica and pretty much all of these reviews look very fake

Stops Working!This is the worst flat iron EVER! When I first bought my Chi I was very happy with it, it got hotter than any other straightener I found before. Then after a few months its STOPPED working. Then I did some research and found out this was a very common problem due to the electrical circuits that CHI REFUSES TO FIX. Straw Hair :(I have used my Chi since 2002. Actually, I have had 3 of them. When I first started using it I was in complete shock that something could tame my thick,wavy hair and make it so straight! It was the product of my dreams. Over the years I have been a little bummed because although loved my straight hair, I HATED how flat it was. There was zero body and fullness. It was literally stick straight and blah. Also, over the last few years the heat from the CHI had been frying and breaking my hair. I have had to get a hair trim on a consistant basis to get rid of the destroyed ends of my hair. It was getting very upsetting because I wanted to grow my hair out but was unable to. My hairdresser mentioned to me a few months ago that my hair was gradually getting worse and asked what kind of flat iron I was using. When I told her she immediately told me that a CHI is terrible on hair. Apparently CHI claims to be a "ceramic" iron, however, I have found out that it is only ceramic "coated". Their plates are metal plates (which is what was murdering my hair) and only coated in the ceramic covering. SHe suggested that I try an AMIKA iron and OMG what a difference! My hair is back to being healthy again and it actually has body! With the AMIKA iron I only have to do ONE PASS over each section. With my CHI I was having to do 3-4 passes with all of that heat! As A Stylist And Salon Owner....I use to be a CHI fan, before they started catering to the masses. I have 3 CHI Blow dryers, two flat irons, and two curling irons. CHI use to be great now I have noticed that the are only lasting a year, which I used to be able to send in a check @ $30 bucks and they'd so the repairs. However, I recently learned that they no longer do repairs.... I called my self and the woman told me I am basically out of luck.
WEll, I will no longer sell CHI products in my salon, and will no longer buy them for work or personal use. I have over $600 dollars worth of CHI tools, only half of which still working.
If you are in the market for a new blow dryer I for BIO IONIC, the NANO one is amazing and I believe they retail just under what CHI retails for. Hair is left soft, silky, and dries super quick!posted Mar 16, 2011Link to this post -

I Was Sold A Fake One!!!!!!!I was sold a pretty but fake chi that broke within months. But now I have bought a real one. I love the Chi flat iron. I have very thick hair and it works wonders for my hair. I have made a video that shows before and after of of my hair being straightened with the chi flat iron. Best Ever!I have owned two flat irons and the first one i bought was a conair which i got in 6th grade it worked horribly and i would not reccomend it but then in 8th grade i got a chi, it is the best hair straightner i would definitley reccomend it! Plus the chi brand is very good so you know your in good hands! another thing i might add is to take your straight hair to the next level use the Chi silk infusion it makes your hair soft, smooth, and shiny! It Does What It Says!For straightening, it is the tops... heats up rapidly, continuous heat, easy to use, and delivers smooth ,sleek hair to my long , thick, frizzy, curly locks. I've tried curling with it, and maybe I need guidance here, cause i just get 'bends' instead of curls, but I'm sure I need a 'how to' tutorial on this.
