Death Of A ChiMy CHI flat iron has been very good to me over the years. I first was introduced to the wonderful world of CHI seven years and I have been hooked on it since. I bought my first CHI at retail price over five years ago and I have bought or have gotten other people to get there own. Then today after five long years of service to me my CHI flat iron has died a very sad for me. This CHI flat iron has brought joy to a lot of people that I have used it on. But now it's job is over it's life has come to an end and no longer will the people of my life enjoy this amazing product. However my CHI flat iron predecessor will soon be on the way. So to all you people who are thinking about a CHI flat iron look no where else then right here. I have used other name brand flat iron i will not say the name for I do not know if I could get into some kind out trouble for stating them. Amazing!If you are thinking about getting these, GET Them! They are everything that I expected. I am African American with 3c hair type. First I washed and conditioned my hair with Mizani products. Very GoodI've had it for about a year and there hasn't been any problems at all. There is only an unpleasantish smell, like chemical, but it may be only because I use a heat protection spray before I straighten it. Many people say that this can't curl hair cut it curls very nicely. They remind me of curls I use with the Enzo Milano. This straightener is VERY lightweight compared to my previous straightener, which was the Herstyler. I have not have any difficulties with the light, on/off switch or anything whatsoever. Great Product With Great PriceI helped my dad order this for my mothers birthday. When in highschool me an my sister always had a chi and my mom would use it. Once we moved out she has been wanting to get one, and finally she got it. So excited for her birthday and loves it. Can straighten or curl hair, I have used them for tears and love it. I Love This StraightenerI love my CHI. It heats up fast and works perfectly on my thin, wavy hair. I was a little nervous about trying this straightener because most reviews say that it works great on their tough curly hair. I thought it would make my hair look stick straight and lifeless. My hair is shiny and beautiful without looking tired at the end of the day! I have used the cheap straightners that I purchased at large stores before but they always damaged my hair but so far this hasn't caused any damage and only takes me about 5 minutes to straighten my whole head. Your Chi iron is the best for the best price. I've used other brands for my curly hair and none of them have worked as well and as fast as the Chi. HorribleI bought my CHI right after christmas 2009, my CHI died on me about a month ago. I only had it for 2 months and it is already dead. I did not drop it, misuse it or anything. I only used it maybe 10 times. It simply will not turn on and I have tried the reset button and everything. I took it to have it looked at and it gets power, it just wont put any out for some reason. Hot And Reliable.Good iron, heats up relatively quick and does a fine job. This is my second chi however as my first died on me about 1.5 years after I got it. Do not wrap the cord securely around the iron when travelling as this loosens the electrical connection. In the "terminal" stages of my first chi I would have to rotate the cord at the base of the iron like crazy in order to get a transient "on" connection.
