Love ItI originally had a Conair straightener that I got from Walmart five years ago for about $35, and while it works wonderfully I stopped straightening my hair for three years so I didn't need to use it. Now that I'm back to using flat iron's, I did my research and found that CHI is a pretty good brand of flat iron and that my Conair was probably going to damage my hair in the long run. Needless to say both flat irons did the same job, but the CHI is better for my hair (I hope). My only issue is that the temperature isn't adjustable, and it gets so hot that it occasionally smokes(steam?) so I turn it off while straightening my hair to let it cool down in an effort to not get burnt. Also, my hair almost always has static now...which is annoying. BTW I am African American and have relaxed hair (although its been a little over 6 weeks since my last treatment) and my hair looks like I just got it done...I mean the roots aren't pin straight, but it does a good job. My only hope is that it doesn't stop working after a year, because I've only had it for two weeks.

I Love It!I love my chi straigtner! I have had a lots of straigtners, but this straigtner is far the best. I have thick, culrly\wavy\straight hair. And my hair is hard to straigtner hair. Makes Straightening Go By So Much Faster!someone gave this straightener and i love it! its only have to go through a piece once and only sometimes twice. my hair is thick and takes usually 40-60min to straighten. with this i can do it within 25-30min if i take my time! all the straighteners i used i would try to curl it with the straightener. and it didnt work but this one can do anything! the only thing i dnt like about it is since it gets so hot i feel like it damages my hair more... and it doesnt feel as soft afterwards. it doesnt make your hair look sleek and some what shiny. but i do like it!posted Jan 13, 2011Link to this post

Loving It....Well I want to say that the chi is the best thing that I had ever brought. I been though so many flat iron's that were the worst ever. A waste of my money and time. I would recommend it to any one. I had my chi for about three going on four years now and never had a problem with it. Works Great But A Few DownfallsI bought this CHI flat iron about two years ago and it recently started to crap out. The light will only stay on for a few seconds and then it shuts off again. My sister also had the same problem with hers but it happened within the first month. Also it would be nice to have an adjustable heat temperature. Other than that it is a good iron that worked great for me while it lasted. I can't say how it did with curling or flipping, I only used to to straighten. I liked the CHI enough but I ordered a Solia to try it out, seemed to have fairly good reviews and it comes with a 2 year warranty, the CHI only comes with a 1 year warranty.posted Jan 9, 2011Link to this post

Great...but...I loved my ChiFlatiron for the whole month and twodays I it worked. Chi Iron-I had a Chi iron for about 5 years until one day the switch melted then cracked off. It straightened well-but not perfect and left hair shiney. I don't like the switch since it was also glitchy and can easily crack. I expected more in terms of quality for the price that I paid. The next Chi iron lasted 3 months. One day I plugged it in and it just stopped working and would not heat up (or led would not come on).
