StephanieVictoria, B.C., CanadaDoes The TrickI got this flat iron for my birthday 5 months ago and it works like it was brand new. It works as well as any other professional flat iron. My cousin had a flat iron from another company which she kept having to return and warned me not to turn the temp up as high as it could go because she thought thats what was causing hers to break.By using this flat iron in combination with heat activated spray in conditioner and appropreate hair straightener it gives me the straight, natural, shiney looking hair I want.I also find it very useful in styling my hair in other ways, whether it be curling it in or flipping it out.If there was one problem with this flat iron it would be that occationally my hair gets caught between the plates and where theyre attached. Its not a huge problem though.posted Feb 28, 2006Link to this post

LisaCuyahoga Falls OHWorks Less Than 5 MonthsI bought this from our Beauty Shop and loved it at first. But, after only 4 1/2 months, it no longer would heat up. The store gave me a 2nd one. Worked wonderfully, but within 5 months the same thing happened. So, they gave me a 3rd one. Same thing happened to my girlfriends. It stopped heating within 5 months. For the price, I feel the flat iron should be lasting at least 1 year.posted Jan 27, 2006Link to this post

LainieWinnipeg, Manitoba, CanadaWorked Well At First.......I bought my from a very reputable salon. My hairdresser did my hair with it and told me she uses hers everyday and it is plugged in all day everyday (while she is working). Hers was almost 2yrs old and was great. I bought it, and it was AMAZING at first. After about 8 Months, it started to fill the whole house with this horrible smell of Burnt hair the moment you turned it on. It was under warrenty so i took it back to the salon. They were reluctant to give me a new one so i asked to speak with their distributer who told both me and the salon owner, that the smell of burning has been a very common complaint, and that her own iron was producing that smell. She told them to give me a new one. I brought the new one home and from the day i got it this one makes the burnt hair smell and it doesnt straigten like the first one i purchased straightened in the beginning. I will be bringing this one back also and asking for a different brand. In the beginning the babylis straigten my hair with one pass and took only about 15mins to do my whole head. My hair is shoulder length. Now it takes 45 mins and doesnt get my hair as straight as it first did. I paid 215.00 for the first one and the replacement one they gave my for free was cheaper. I guess the price has gone down. I would recommend that buyers get something more reliable as you are spending alot of money for these irons and you should not have to replace it every 8-9 months.posted Jan 25, 2006Link to this post

NicoleeGet Real People!I dont know what all of you are talking about.. I have a BaByliss flat iron and its the best thing ever. Here its used in all the best salons and Ive never even heard of Sedu. I should say that I have a Babyliss professional, that is really from a salon (My mom got it an outlet sorta thing that hair dressers buy from at low low low prices!) I think it was originally 250 $ canadian. It heats up super fast, goes up to 419 farenheit, has pure ceramic plates, glides through my hair easily without tugging, the outside does not get hot and has a really soft velvety covering that is really comfy to hold onto, straightens my hair immediately, leaves it really soft and shiny and just WOW. it is an absoulutely amazing flat iron.posted Dec 9, 2005Link to this post

EmFully SatisfiedThough I do not have this exact model (I have the BAB2569.. doesnt seem to be for sale here) I wanted to review this simmilar one because I am actually very happy with my BaByliss and was surprised when I read the less than satisfied reviews. Up until about I was about thirteen I actually had very fine and limp hair but after that my hair started going crazy after I washed it, It is the thickest hair ever and very frizzy and stubborn. I started out with a typical 25 buck (actually got it free with airmiles? hehehe) Remmington straightener, it was absolute crap. But my hair was still more barbaric (seriously) than ever. My mum as a grad gift got me my BaByliss last June and It is still working as good as ever. I have had no damage whatsoever, the plates have not chipped at all, the heat is still fantastic and it relatively quick (I go over sections of hair about 4 times just to be sure, It starts straightening right away) It leaves my hair soft to the touch and shiny.I am very content with my BaByliss.now if I could only figure out how to pronounce it..posted Dec 4, 2005Link to this post

StephTorontoAwesome, Love My Hair Now!Im not sure what everyone else is talking about, because Ive had my flat iron for over a year and it still works like its new. Hmmm. It could be either your hair is too thick and curly, youre not using appropriate products (ones which enhance straightening) or you dont clean it after using products. It does not smell; only if you leave it sitting, which is the natural thing for it to do. I would reccommend this to anyone with fine hair and is growing their hair out from a perm (like me!) :)posted Oct 28, 2005Link to this post

TiffanyNew JerseyGood At First, Sucks NowI purchased this flat iron a little over a year ago, and it first it was amazing. I have VERY curly hair, and it started off getting my hair straight in about 30 minutes .. but now, everytime I turn it on, it makes my whole house smell like burnt hair, and my hair as well (yes, I do use straightening products). It takes about 60-75 minutes to get my hair fully straight. Look for something better, posted Oct 26, 2005Link to this post

JenArlington Heights, ILPoor QualityI will start out by saying that I LOVED the results from this flat iron. But, in my first month of use it just stopped getting hot. I sent it back and it was replaced. All was good for about another two months and again is just stopped getting hot, I sent it back and it was replaced. This happened FOUR times and the warrantee only replaces it from the date it was first purchased for one year. Very disappointing, you would think it would last longer. I was extremely careful with it, I never left it on for long periods of time, I kept it in its own drawer in my bathroom with the cord NOT wrapped around the iron, and it was NEVER dropped. I would not recommend this iron... go with a Sedu the quality is much better.posted Jul 21, 2005Link to this post
