I was given the Andis one in nano-ceramis flat iron as a birthday gift last year. I have used it since then and i not experienced any problems. Right now I am transitioning to natural and it gets my roots as straight as a relaxer. If you are looking for something that works well for a great price.....go with this one!! :-)

I am a black female; and I recently purchased a Sedu (1 1/2 inch) some months ago. I love its straightening quality, but I wanted something a bit smaller for curls. The Sedu Revolution (1 inch) was equivalent to what I had paid for the larger one ($139.00). To make a long story short, I purchased this one for curls, and I love it too. I use the Sedu to straighten my hair after washing and blow drying. It saves a lot of time doing it this way, and the Sedu does not damage my hair at high temperatures. I use the Andis to curl and style with ease. This was a great buy. And by the way...a tip for all with unruly, frizzy and/or damaged hair of any type (black, white, Asian etc.) Chaz Dean products Wen are the "bomb" while using any hot tool or styling aid. It too is well worth the money.

I am an African American girl with curly hair. I purchased the Andis flat iron because I needed a good flat iron, at an affordable price. I purchased it online for a steal price. I was so excited when I received it, I couldn't wait to use it. However, while I was in the midst of doing my hair, I noticed that suddenly, it started to snag my hair a bit. I looked at the plates and noticed that they were peeling. I was so upset, and I still am. After one use, the flat iron is giving me problems. I have decided that I am done with Andis, and I'm moving to a different brand.
