Gaby G.Fontana,CAThis Straightner Is Absolutely Horrible!!!!THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST STRAIGHTNER THERE CAN BE OUT THERE....IT FRIES HAIR INSANLY!! AND IT KEEPS MY HAIR SMELLING BURT FOR DAYS, EVEN IF I SHOWER. IT DOES HEAT UP VERY QUICK AND IT CURLS AND SRAIGHTENS VERY WELL, BUT IT IS NOT WORTH IT BECAUSE IT KILLS THE LIFE AND THE BEUTY OF YOUR HAIR.MY CONAIR STRAIGHTNER WAS BETTER THAN THIS ONE...I AM ONLY TRYING TO SAVE YOU FROM REGRETING YOUR PURCHASE.posted Feb 4, 2011Link to this post

DaniellePitts. PAHairMedium BrownCurly HairColor Treated HairGreat Iron!!!I LOVE this iron!! I have very long hair and my Chi still makes it look fizzy after a few hours. When I use my Amika, my hair is silky and very straight, NO FRIZZ! I no longer use my Chi. Infact my daughter and her friend broke my Amika and I about cried. My only fault was paying a mall TOO much money for my first one. I bought my second one line here with free shipping and so much cheeper!!posted Jan 23, 2011Link to this post

Charisse J.Brooklyn, NYHairLight BrownCurly HairColor Treated HairThick or Coarse HairHated ItI got it as a gift about 3 birthdays ago and its horrible. It does get really hot but it left my hair fried looking and it literally smells like your hair is burning plus the edges started to peel off. Its a real hit or miss with this one because in the beginning it was okay but now i hate it - even when i put it lower i hate the crunchy feeling of my hair. My hair is thick, medium to slightly coarse and I just overall do not like the texture quality it leaves - I've seen other irons like the ghd etc produce silky straight hair that moves! this did not do that for me & now I feel horrible because my aunt never forgets to tell me how she feels about the expensive iron she bought that i NEVER use....
overall if your hair is natural, thick, medium to coarse this iron is probably going to suck for youposted Jan 21, 2011Link to this post -
KatherineBoston, MAHairMedium BrownNormal HairFine or Thin HairDecent Product But I Prefer My ChiI have been using my Amika for a month and while I don't hate it, I also don't love it. The Amika thermo styler is a decent straightener. I've previously owned a CHI and a Solia and prefer their results. My fine wavy hair normally takes me under 10 minutes to straighten my hair. With the Amika, it takes 10 minutes at the very very least to get my hair decently straight. I cannot get my hair pin straight with this particular tool - therefore I just don't think it is worth the $145 price tag. It does come with two very useful hair clips that I definitely appreciated. I wish that there was an adjustable heat setting and not just an on/off button. In the end, there is nothing wrong with this straightener and if it was my first one, I would probably love it. Instead, I am satisfied but not in love with it as I was with my CHI.
Does anyone know if this product is wet to dry?posted Sep 6, 2010Link to this post
