Julie D.HairDark BrownColor Treated HairFine or Thin HairIt's Ok But.....I have very straight hair that kinks up at the ends. Overall this product works well and the curl does hold but if your hair is straight and shiny like mine, you get marks in it from the hair holder itself as you put it onto the hair, so instead of a smooth gradual curl under (for my bob) it looks like I have stripes!posted Apr 4, 2011Link to this post

VickiSeattleHairDark BrownColor Treated HairThick or Coarse HairDid Not Work With My HairI have long, thick, mostly straight hair. I was so excited to get a professional quality curling iron, but this one just didn't make lasting curls in my hair. They would look nice immediately, but within 20 mins the curls would just be so droopy it looked like day old curls from my cheap Revlon curling iron, which I am suprisingly happy with after this experience. It gives me lasting curls, I just thought a more expensive product would work even better.... not the case this time.posted Dec 16, 2010Link to this post

AllisonCaliforniaHairCurly HairCoating Chipped Within 2 Months!I loved this at first...and then less than two months after I received it, I noticed that the paint coating was chipping off the barrel where the clamp meets it. What a disappointment! I had probably only used it about 15 times before this happened too, and this isn't the first iron to do this. How very frustrating.posted Dec 7, 2010Link to this post

ShazamIowaHairChemically Treated HairSadly, This Curling Iron Isn't So Hot.Disappointed with the curl life after using this curling iron. It seems to go almost flat after a few hours. I have been using my Sedu flat iron to curl (curling tips from another Folica client post, thank you) until I could decide on a curling iron. This one didn't seem to heat as high as the 430 degrees it claims to do. I have thick hair, long hair. I did a comparison curl between my Sedu, which heats to 450 degrees and this iron. The Sedu took less time (about 5-8 sec compared to 15 secs) AND stayed longer. I like the ease of a curling iron or I would stick with the Sedu. Perhaps I have a defective curling iron. The iron is otherwise nicely made, the tip stays cool, the clip holds the hair pretty good, and the cord is long. My hair looks shiny after curling.
Other con: the "on" light isn't very bright, so it is had to see if it is on or not.posted Nov 16, 2010Link to this post -
SaraBrooklyn, NYHairBlackFine or Thin HairNot What I Expected.I have yet to use this curling iron, it's still sitting in the box. I was disappointed because I thought this was a travel size tool, I must have read the description inaccurately. When it arrived, I had no time/energy to return it. I'm sure it's a great product, but it was not what I was intending on purchasing.
The prompt shipping is excellent though.posted Nov 13, 2010Link to this post -
HanaHairDark BrownFine or Thin HairTotally Worth The Price And Then SomeI'd originally purchased an Enzo Milano Conico Reverso Clipless Curling Iron for about $190. It's an excellent curler but very difficult to use on yourself. I was told about Hot Tools from a coworker and I was at first hesitant because the price was so reasonable but after using it, I fell in love! I've only used it once so far but from the result that I've seen, it really did its job. My hair was shiny and bouncy with curls. I made sure that I protected my hair with Sedu heat protectant spray so maybe that helped.
It only took me about 20 minutes to curl my entire head and it looked gorgeous!posted Nov 2, 2010Link to this post -
RSo Far, The Best!I have always straightened my naturally curly hair, so only recently did I decide to try curling my hair with a curling iron. I bought and then returned (after at least 2 uses each) four curling irons. The Hot Tools Nanoceramic is BY FAR the best: 1. It heats up quickly. 2. The cool tip of the iron is generous, easy to grip without burning your fingers, and actually stays completely cool. 3. The iron gets hot enough to curl my hair in 2" chunks. None of the irons left any curl unless I curled, like, 10 hairs at a time. The (minor) CONS: 1. I don't like the adjustable stand, which doesn't always stabilize the iron when on the counter. 2. The power-on light isn't an LED, so sometimes it's hard to tell if it's lit or not, depending on the angle.posted Apr 7, 2010Link to this post

SondraWilliamson, WVGood QualityThese curling irons are great! I have two different sizes. I also like that they send replacement tension springs, I used my larger one for about a year before the spring snapped (everyday). But it was very easy to replace, and now its good as new. I would definately recommend this brand of curling iron.posted Jan 31, 2010Link to this post
