    Love Chi!
I love this curling iron. The 1.5" barrel gives me the body I want without making my hair curly. The ceramic helps smooth my hair and keeps it shiny. Really happy I bought this!

    Nope. Not This One.
First, let me say that you almost need an Engineering degree to open the box! But at least it's heavy cardboard, and not that awful hard plastic that I've cut myself with before. Now, for my review. I've used two Conair ceramic-tourmaline curling irons for several years. I have both the 1" and the 1 1/4". They both work just fine. Most of the time, I curl my hair in an up-flip with the curling irons. But occasionally I flip it under and I wanted to try a flat iron. After much research I purchased the CHI Deep Brilliance tourmaline flat iron and I couldn't be happier with the results. It glides well, has digital controls (I NEVER set my temp above 330), and it's easy to handle. Hence, I thought, the CHI tourmaline ceramic curling iron has to be just as good as the flat iron, and surely even better than my Conair ceramic-tourmaline, right? Wrong. I opened the box this morning and used it immediately. It, too, has a digital control, but it's on the side and I accidently turned it off twice while trying to curl my hair. It does not glide at all -- it drags -- terribly (I also use the Sedu Anti-Frizz Polishing Treatment which usually gives additional "slip", but not in this case). And it seems as though I'm stretching my thumb abnormally to grasp the clamp. This curling iron does not work any better, or nearly as well, as my Conair ceramic-tourmaline curling irons. Back in the box it goes, as soon as it cools off.

    Best Iron Ever
I have hair of medium thickness that likes to curl and frizz. I use this iron to straighten my hair and add a big under curl. The iron heats up lightening fast and the temperature can be adjusted easily. The barrel is smooth slides right through the hair without sticking (so many other irons catch my hair and break it both on the barrel and on the hinged stand) The barrel is long so none of the hair slips off the iron. It's the best iron I have ever owned.
