MAVALA Stop for Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking

SherriWorks Great! My eight year old just couldn't kick the thumb sucking habit periodically during the day to relax or at night, so our dentist reccommened Mavala. It's been a week, we've only applied it once and he has pretty much quit sucking his thumb.posted Feb 19, 2010Link to this post

MarieNot For The Die Hard Thumb Sucker! The dentist recommended that my three year old stop her thumb sucking habit because of the damage being caused to her teeth. After the first two weeks she mostly stopped sucking her thumb during the day. Her thumb will occasionally be in her mouth if she is really tired. Four months later we have given up on putting the stuff on at night because it doesn't make a difference. We started putting double coats and putting it on every night. None of that mattered! I guess there needs to be a stronger version for the die hard thumb sucker!posted Feb 19, 2010Link to this post

RhiannonWow... This Stuff Is Amazingmy daughter has been sucking her thumb since in the womb.. non-stop.. two weeks before her 3rd birthday, i purchased mavala hoping this would get rid of this nasty habit.. it took less than 48hours, and my daughter has no craving to stick her thumb in her mouth. the first night was rough, very rough. lots of spitting, crying, and im thinking she needed something to do with her hands, so she just scrated and scratched her whole body.. she kept crying out, mommy, please take it off, i wont suck my thumb, i wont... believe me, it broke my heart, and twice i wanted to give in.. but i stayed strong with what i wanted for my daughter, and just kept explaining that shes a big girl now, and it ll be better tomorrow... the next day, she was grumpy, from being up half the night.. but the next evening, peaceful sleeping.. two days later, she brought me the bottle and told me to "paint her nails" she has not put her thumb in her mouth since... totally worth the 8.00posted Feb 18, 2010Link to this post

MarieBuffalo, NYDoes Not WorkI tried this for my now 7 year old for at least 2 years and she still sucks her thumb. I thought it would work on my 18 month old, but it has been 9 months and she still has a blister on her thumb AND SUCKS IT 5 MIN AFTER I PUT IT ON. Not sure if it is b/c we eat a wide variety of foods (Lebanese, Indian, Chinese which are sometimes spicy) and the bitterness doesn't phase her or not, but my dentist insists to continue using it- it works. BALDERDASH!!posted Jan 9, 2010Link to this post

SabrinaSan Clemente, CA, USAIt Works! We've had great success with this nail polish. It's easy to use, you only have to apply every other day, and it tastes so yucky (my husband and I both tried it). It has been successful in getting our daughter to stop sucking her fingers!posted Jan 6, 2010Link to this post

SharinaHouston, TXMavala Really Works!!!!I have 4 year old triplets. 2 of them were finger suckers! I decided to take extra steps to get them to stop this nasty habit! I ordered this product and they were a little stubborn at 1st but with consistency and determination it really stopped both of them! I prayed about, used Mavala, and a glove (which I had been using before). I am so happy that they no longer suck their fingers ;-)posted Oct 13, 2009Link to this post

SaraBellevue, WADidn't HelpWe tried this product on both of my chilren. My son (age 9) bites his fingernails and my daughter (age 7) continues to sucks her thumb. My dentist recommended this product and heard that it worked wonders. Both of my children chewed/sucked right through it. Disappointing.posted Oct 3, 2009Link to this post

AnnaStamford, CT USAStopped Our Finger SuckingI did not believe that this produce could do what I said that it could do but I bought it anyway. My daughter who just turned 5 has been sucking two fingers since she is born I have tried eveything, things that have cost much more then this product and they did not work. My husband said as a last resort try it it cannot hurt. When I got the package my daughter was excited because we were going to help her stop. It took about one day and that was it. It has been a month now with no relapse. This product is great!!posted Sep 11, 2009Link to this post

NessaThis Stuff Really Works!!!!!I'd tried everything I could think of to stop my son from sucking his fingers. I found MAVALA Stop using WebMD and decided to give it a try. It worked with the first application. My son tried to suck his fingers after I applied it, but he immediately took his fingers from his mouth. Now, you can't even make him put his fingers in his mouth. This product has saved us from a large dental bill.posted Sep 7, 2009Link to this post

KobiAmazingMy daughter is 8 years old. We could not get her to stop sucking her thumb. We bought expensive thumbguards. She was strong enough to pull it off at night. She even chewed on the plastic. I had made an appointment with her dentist to have the bar put in the roof of her mouth. I did not want to have to go that route, but I was desperate. I found Mavala on the internet. We began using it, and she only put her thumb in her mouth once during the day. Then one night while she was sleeping. She said it was horrible. We continue to put it on her thumb just to make sure the habit is gone, but she shows no desire to suck her thumb. My daughters self-esteem has increased dramatically. She wanted to quit before, but just could not. Mavala made her successful at stopping. Love it!!!! Highly reccomend it.posted Sep 1, 2009Link to this post
