Melissa M.Carlsbad, CAMavala Stop - No More Thumb Sucking, Hooray! After much research on products designed to help my almost 4-year-old son stop sucking his thumb, I settled on Mavala Stop. It worked like a charm from the very first day we tried it out. We used it regularly for about 2 weeks and hes been thumb free for the past 2.5 months. Excellent product - five stars! I only wish I had tried it sooner.posted Oct 29, 2007Link to this post

Lauren GWinter Garden, FloridaUnbelievable!I had doubts, it didnt seem possible that any product could help my 4 1/2 year old. She has been a hard core thumb sucker and hasnt fallen asleep without it even once since she was 4 months old. On Day 1 I prepared for the worst and expected at least a week of sleepless nights followed by relapses. However, on the first night she cried for 10 minutes then fell asleep. The following 2 nights she drifted off to sleep while looking at books- no crying. Night 4 and every night since she has had no problems going to sleep, even without books. I think its safe to say she kicked the habit in one day without looking back! I have only 2 regrets... she no longer sleeps at nap time because shes not sleepy enough to drift off without her thumb, and I regret that I told her she could pierce her ears if she stopped sucking her thumb because I didnt actually think shed do it so soon, and now Ive got to live up to my end of the bargain.posted Oct 14, 2007Link to this post

KristenOhioProduct Is Greeeeeeeeat! My 9 1/2 year old daughter, who has sucked her thumb since birth, stopped in 1 day flat. We kept applying it every few days (thats how long it lasts on nails) just in case, but she never put her thumb in her mouth again. I would highly recommend this product. Nothing else worked for us except this, it was like our own little miracle in a bottle.posted Oct 9, 2007Link to this post

AnonymousChicagolandBitter, But Not EnoughMom and 4-y.o. son both gnaw at fingernails. Mom finds the product to be very bitter tasting, even if the polish is ingested indirectly (e.g., mom tastes the sandwich that was held by son who has Mavala on fingernails and tips). Product works to curtail moms gnawing of nails, but not the sons; he essentially ignores the product on his fingers.posted Sep 30, 2007Link to this post

RoguejediOhioMavala Stop!! Is WonderfulI turned to this product after my 10 yera old daughter was so frustrated with her thumbsucking that she didnt know what to do anymore. I know 10s a bit old for thumbsucking but hey, we were at the point where wed try anything. This product worked in two sessions. It is so utterly horrible tasting that she was so worried the taste might linger that she woulndt put her fingers anywhere near her mouth at all! Its really easy to use, just brush it on the thumbnail. I felt bad when she accidently put her thumb in her mouth. She had a fit but it has helped her stop and that was the important thing for all of us.posted Sep 28, 2007Link to this post
