Will Never Shave Unwanted Hair Again!!!
The Satin Smooth Professional Waxing Kit exceeded my expectations. I will NEVER shave unwanted hair again!!! The instructions and step by step video were very thorough and helpful. I believe that having my legs and facial hair professionally waxed in the past also helped with understanding the proper use of the product(s) included in the kit.

However, I do not recommend self waxing underarm hair without some practice and experience. I did bruise one of my underarms by improperly removing the piece of cloth too slowly. This was no fault of the products or instructions, but by my own inexperience.

Also, it is important to watch the video and read the instructions thoroughly before starting. Have plenty of time, be comfortable and relaxed the first time you use the products for best results.

Worked Great For A First-time Amateur
I braved my first-at home waxing with this kit and it went great. Everything you need is included. Waxing both lower legs took about an hour--including set-up and clean-up. Reaching the back part of the legs was a bit hard, but do-able. One earlier poster, also not a professional, mentioned that it was too difficult for her without training. This was not the case for me, but probably that's because I have been getting waxed at the salon for years with the same product--so I know how it works. I know by feel what temperature it should be, how fast the strips should be pulled; I've had good and bad waxings, and I've learned a ton from the bad ones. I'd recommend getting at least one salon waxing with a similar product (ask if they use muslin strips and if so it is similar) before trying this at home. The motivation for me in doing it at home is hygiene. I am not happy that my salon double dips so the bacteria from each client contaminates the pot. It's also a big cost savings: I used about $5-$10 in wax, strips and wooden applicators--compared with $50 for the salon visit including tax and tip. Time spent is about the same, given that I have to set up and clean up but I don't have to drive to the salon. Here are a few tips for home users: 1. Watch the video. It has a lot of promotional nonsense but it does show you the essentials of waxing and has a separate segment on how to do each part of the body. 2. Start with lower legs. This is definitely the easiest part of the body. I did it while standing. I found it helpful to have a chair, covered with an old towel, to prop my leg on so I could reach each part of it. Do what the video says and do the back first and then the front. 3. Unless you are amazingly coordinated you will drip sticky wax all over. Use old towels/sheets to cover your work area and under the wax melter. The paper rings included with this kit go around the round holes before the wax goes in--and they really help cut down on mess! 4. When you first take off the plastic cap from the wax container wear gloves! Before it is heated it is exceptionally sticky. I had a terrible time getting it off my hands and next time I will know better. Also, do NOT try to be frugal by removing the wax stuck to the plastic cover...really, it's not worth it. 5.As a beginner I tended to apply too much wax. Experiment a bit but I found a thin layer worked best. 6. The kit included a honey wax and a pink creme wax. The creme wax is specially designed for African Americans and Latinos or anyplace there is dark curly hair. I am Italian-American (dark skin, dark hair). Both waxes worked equally well but I found the honey wax much, much easier to work with. If it's your first time, I would stick with the honey wax unless you are in one of the ethnic groups the creme wax is designed for. Even in that case you might still want to try both waxes and see which one you like. 5. You heat the wax on HOT setting. The instructions do not say how hot to put the setting while using it. I found that the "Ready" setting worked great for me.

    Sorry I Didn't Find Sooner
I am very pleased with the value and functionality of this product. I used to buy the $11 kits at Rite Aid, but we went through those quick doing bikini waxes on me and back waxes for my husband. The additional lotions are nice to have. We liked the muslin strips better than the paper type. This is great for anyone who has common sense, you don't need to be a professional to use this kit.

    Pleasantly Surprised
Better then i expected. I upgraded to the express shipping and it arrived in one day. I was impressed by the size of the bottles and quality of the system. Professional waxing at home without the price and embarassment of the salon? SCORE! Even my husband said he thought it was worth every penny and that was after just me waxing my eyebrows. I would say i'd recommend it to all the women i know, but we're still trying to decide whether or not we want to keep it our amazing hair removal secret! Some things are just too good to share...

    Beware To Non-professionals!
The "Satin Smooth Professional Waxing Kit" is an all around EXTENSIVE kit. HOWEVER, as it says in the product details, it is intended for PROFESSIONAL USE. I am not a professional and had a lot of trouble using this product on myself. Also, the wax pots that were included with this product are TERRIBLE! Completely sticky and extremely hard to rip off with the wax paper. I was so disappointed and it was a disaster each and every time that I used it, that finally I gave up on it and $132.99 had to go down the drain.

    Top Notch
Not only does the machine work perfectly, but the materials- the different waxes, the epilating strips, the preparing and maintenance creams- what a dream! Highest quality for sure. This was my Christmas present and I couldn't have been happier. Would recommend to everyone!!

    Fantastic
This kit is excellent in ensuring your total confidence. The instructional DVD not only teaches you the basics, but also helps you to understand the fundamentals of a truly peaceful waxing experience. Although this kit is for professional use I bought it for my personal at home use. It is easy to use and does not take up much space. I would say this is a must have for beginners and professionals alike. :)

    Review From A Professional Esthetician
I am an Esthetician from a very successful Spa in Il. I purchased this waxpot to use at home for myself. I really doubted how well it was going to work because so many waxpots dont keep a consistent temperature, but this one is perfect. Just turn the dial to the middle and when the wax is melted it is a perfect temperature every time... my waxpots at work arent that consistent!!! I love it and you will too!!!

    Everything You Need!!
This kit is truly the best. I bought it thinking I may have overspent my money and should have just went with a warmer. I am so glad I didnt. It comes with everything from the pre-cleaning treatment, wax remover, aloe, and lotion. The warmer is great & it warmed the wax so fast. I started waxing within one hr of receiving this. If you are a beginner like myself you definately want to watch the video that comes along with the kit. There was no mess, well only on the towel I was laying on(I pretty much mimicked what my Esthetician does)and the wax is easy to clean up because of the wax remover. The two waxes the cream and honey wax are great too!! I used both and they stick and come off with the strips that comes w/the kit as well! I am very excited about this kit because I may have spent $130 but I already did my bikini $50-65(w/help from my boyfriend...u may need some help the first time!) my eyebrows $10-15 and my underarms $25! SO Instead of spending about $100 every two-three weeks I will be saving thousands of dollars a year!!!
