clean+easy Personal Roll-On Waxer

Tesia J.United StatesLoyal CustomerI have been using this product for many, many years. I have learned a few things about the best way to use it. Granted, when I first started, I tried to use the roll on feature and that just DID NOT work! What I have done for the longest time is take the cap off and use the popsicle stick thingies. Problem solved! The wax DOES get hot (at least the one i bought many years ago does) and I have never had a problem with it. The BEST thing is that the wax does not get everywhere and I love that I can just keep buying the little wax refill bottles.
My heater JUST pooped out on me after maybe 10 years (?) and now I'm here to buy a new one. I will update my review if I find the newer one to be of less quality (I know the brand has undergone changes so...)posted Oct 6, 2011Link to this post -
ClaireTerrible And Messy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This product does not heat up and is very hard to clean up. BY the way, I have been waxing for several years. it took two days to get the wax off of my leg.DO NOT buy this product. It is a complete waste of moneyposted Jun 22, 2011Link to this post

AmyMichiganHairLight BrownNormal HairEasy! Easy! And Affordable! After paying the high cost of going to the spa for all my waxing a friend suggested I try doing it myself. I tried the microwaveable kits and found them to be inconvenient and messy. I purchased this starter kit almost 6 years ago and love it to this day. Its great for your legs and you only need one refill at a time so it is really inexpensive. Its easy enough that I have taught my 12 year old daughter.posted Jun 16, 2011Link to this post

DorothyWausau Wi.Like This Product Very Much!!I have used this product for a long time in my shoppe and really like it! I work in an independent living home and still like it very much. You really need to learn how to use something before you try to use it on your own. I too keep mine plugged in most of the time during open hours. Yes I love it.posted May 11, 2011Link to this post

JennyVery DisappointedI just tried my roll-on waxer and agree with the majority of the reviews-it does not get hot enough-you should not have to leave it plugged in overnight to use-the directions say not to leave it plugged in for more than an hour! I did leave it on for about 5 hours and it still did not perform well-it felt like the roller was ripping off my skin as it dragged down my leg-finally got tired of trying to get it hot enough and put it in the microwave-when the wax was at the proper temperature, the roller worked great! I am going to return to store and look for one that has a better qualityheating element.-I love the roller when it works properly.posted Jan 15, 2011Link to this post

AlannaCaliforniaClean+easy Is Actually Gross & ImpossibleI bought this from a beauty supply store who swore that it was a great product, "if you know how to use wax." Well, I've been paying someone else to wax me for about 10 years now, and have done it myself a number of times without any problem UNTIL I tried this stuff.
It doesn't seem the warmer gets the wax to the right temperature. I would plug it in for over two hours, and then I could use the cartridge for half an hour at the most before it would harden again. But it was never comfortable, and after about 10 minutes of use it was actually more painful to try to drag the wax over my skin than it was to rip multiple hairs out by the root. The rolling part was a big part of the problem too - it seemed to me the wax cooled down too much when passing through it. It would get gummed up and be unusable. I placed the cartridge in the warmer immediately after applying wax, so it's not like it was sitting around cooling down. It just isn't a good system.
The wax is awful! I tried a few different oils, and scrubbing in the shower (which is never comfortable nor a good idea after waxing, and definitely not after the misery that getting the wax on in the first place is with this system) but it usually took about THREE DAYS for the stuff to finally completely get off my skin. Disgusting!
I'm giving two stars instead of the 1 I really feel it deserves because I think that MAYBE if you were in a very warm room and you have a higher body temperature than I do, or if you had a fever? then this system might work kind of okay, I guess. Overall, though, I'd say spend your money elsewhere. I jumped ship for the Satin Smooth Nice N' Neat system, which works fantastically.posted Jan 3, 2011Link to this post -
LeahWax Does Not Heat Up.I have had this waxing system for almost 8 years (when it was the Sally Hansen brand you could buy at the grocery store). The wax would get super hot, the roller would roll easily, and it was perfect. A few months ago, the heating element stopped working (not bad after having it for seven years!), so I bought the clean+easy from folica. It does NOT heat up AT ALL. I left it plugged in for TWO DAYS and it was still unbearable to try and spread the wax onto my underarms. I've decided to keep the unit with the roller top off of the wax and use a wooden strip to spread. So very disappointing.posted Dec 18, 2010Link to this post

Pamela P.ChicagoSo DisappointingI was thrilled to identify this product! and ordered one for me and one for my daughter. I tried mine, and discovered that the heating element did not work well. I tried the other one, just in case it was an exception, but sure enough! neither worked well. I later checked the remarks (too bad I didn't do this previously) and noted others have had similar complaints.
I looked for another similar product by another manufacturer and found one that received good reviews, however, the refills were not available. I wrote an Email to folica to make sure that this was the case, and never heard back. Was very disappointed.
I will have to return both units.posted Sep 28, 2010Link to this post
