  • Don't Try With Ian Zachary Coloring 3 Star Rating
I was golden blonde for quite some time. Wanted to go back to "the roots" of being ash blonde. Tried to "override" the gold, but I did not get the result I wanted... so I decided to give a shot to this product. Well, it took out Loreal ash blonde "override" no problem, however, golden blonde of Ian Zachary shined brighter than ever. That line provides virtually indestructible color... if you want to keep it... LOL

The box said "will not work on metallic dyes," so how in the world are you suppose to know what kind of dye is used in any given hair color product??? Crystal ball anyone? I don't know one way or the other, but I suppose, if the color is truly fade resistant it got to be metallic, given my results. It was the only brand that I tried that lived up to the promise, out of all store or salon brands. I wonder why folica took it off the site...

Also, a lot of people complained about the smell, it is not pleasant, but not nearly as bad as others described.

Honorable mention for Wella, Goldwell, Loreal, Garnier, Clarol, Ferria, and who knows what else I tried over the years...
