one 'n only Colorfix

ElleheesonEnglandAlmost WorkedTo start with my hair is naturaly one shade lighter than black. I started dying my hair black to match my roots as i have started getting gray hairs. I decided i wanted to go lighter for summer and after reading all the reviews chose colorfix. I applied the product as per the instructions after the 20 min the color hadnt really changed so i left it on for an hour. My roots started to go a caramel colur and the ends a dark mahogany (not orange tho!) so i applied it again and left it for another hour and washed and shampood off. the top was lighter than the bottom but not badly my ends were a mid brown and a nice caramel color on the roots. So far really impressed and excited about going lighter! i chose a light caramel colour (semi permanant) 2 shades lighter than the colour i wanted to be i left it on for half the reco time - 10 mins the results? My hair is now pitch black!? Not sure how this happened should have just left it after the colorfix - disappointed as i paid allot for shipping to the UK - the stuff does smell really bad and my hair is pretty damaged now so just gonna grow it out.posted Jun 29, 2009Link to this post

KaitlinLong Island, New YorkHairColor Treated Hairmy hair is naturally blonde and a few months ago i dyed my hair using a semi-permanent black/blue ..liked it for a while until my blonde roots started coming back in ..i planned on stripping my hair but found this instead and decided to try it out and im pretty happy with the product. i just used it today and it did what i expected it to do. took the black right out and turned my hair back to my natural blonde with red in it ..i dont have a problem with the red i just dont know weather its gunna change or not ..might dye hair lighter but im not sure yet. by the way i didnt use the processing lotion but i would definitly recommend this product. i will tell you that if your trying to get lighter from a dark color like a black then im almost sure your hair is gunna turn red but thats just something you can easily change ..im just glad the blacks out of my hair without ruining my hair because this product does not damage hair at all ..not mine at least ..it does smell pretty bad but its been a couple hours and the smell is out of my hair lol

Janet LacroixSummerfield, FloridaHappy And HopingI have been coloring my roots for 18 years. I have natural dark brown hair that is long and greying. Years of using Dark Brown Natural Instincts turned my hair stubborn black. I switched to dark brown Bigen. My hair was still black. I have a pigment disorder called vitiligo, and as I am aging and getting more grey and have white skin, I looked like a dead witch. I went to a high end salon that gave me a bleach wash that bleached out my new roots and left the rest of my hair stone black again. I then tried a harsh color remover that damaged my hair. I waited a few weeks and tried Ion color remover that lightened my hair to a nice reddish brown but turned it dark again after a couple of weeks. Now I used Colorfix, twice. My hair is a nice copper brown, but I still have areas in the middle section of my hair that are still very dark. I dont want to try to bleach it as it may give me a lot of damage. I will continue to keep trying colorfix because it causes the leaast amount of damage to my hair. My hair is bouncing back healthy, so I am satisfied. I have to use intense conditioners left on the hair and protein fillers to restore the health of my hair. This is the best I can hope for, as nothing takes the place of real natural hair color. I am coloring my roots with burgundy and it looks nice.I hope this keeps working.posted Jun 6, 2009Link to this post

EliseAlexandria, VABest Product EverI previously spent $300.00 trying to get black dye out of my hair at a salon only to leave it a disgusting brown color and had to cut hair from damaged caused by stripping. I followed the directions and IT WORKED!!!!posted Jun 5, 2009Link to this post

LauraPhilly, PaOnce You Go Black You Can Go Back!Ive been dying my hair black and/or very dark brown for over a year and a half now. I finally got tired of having darker ends then roots when I wanted to dye my hair even slightly lighter brown. I used this and it removed all the black!! My hair isnt my natural color but it will be much easier to dye it the color I want now. I conditioned my hair very well when I was finished and my hair appears to be in just as good of condition as it was before. As for the smell, its not all that pleasant, but I will deal with it since now nobody can call me a goth anymore! good luck!posted Jun 1, 2009Link to this post

LsaDallas, TXUsed On African American Natural Textured HairIm going to make this really detailed bc I didnt see any reviews for African American hair that is natural. My natural haircolor is a soft black (a #2 for those of you that wear weave...LOL) and i dyed my hair to a jet black with Waterworks brand and about six mos later dyed it blue black LOreal Preference in Onyx Sheen. Two mos later (now) the Loreal color completely washed away and I was left with soft black at the roots of my hair and jet black on the bottom half of my hair. Plus, its summer and I want to go lighter (think Chili from TLC).I did a strand test and it seemed to take out all the color with the first method so I went for it. Im pretty happy with the result. I did two applications just to make sure I had all the color out because I dyed black over a my naturally black hair. My hair is naturally a soft black and natural textured (Im about a 3b/3c) thick and long. But, I was able to do two applications with one kit. The color I was left with was a dark chocolate brown. YES, it did lighten my roots to a dark reddish brown. But thats fine with me since Im going lighter. Had I just wanted an even color, I wouldnt have been happy with the lightness around the hairline and temples. My hair was dry, but I think it was more from the shampoo than the product because I used C-System clean clarifying shampoo to wash. Yes, this stuff stinks, it stunk up my whole apt with just a strand test...LOL but its worth it to get the black out without bleaching your hair.posted May 31, 2009Link to this post

A. GCaliforniaHorribleSo I have spent a lot of time in the bathroom with my roommate dying our hair crazy unnatural colors, until I decided I wanted to go a little more natural. At the point I bought the color remover my hair was pink (dyed w/ punky colors, which i do not suggest if you ever want them out). I completely followed the directions on the box and did not use the lotion because of the reviews. YA MY HAIR IS NOW BLUE!!! Which is strange seeing as blue was NOT one of the many colors ive dyed my hair. Does anyone know how this could have possibly happened?posted May 28, 2009Link to this post

SachaOttawa, Ontario CanadaMiracle In A BoxWowOk first this is a total life saver. Ive been dying my hair black for as long as I can remembertoday date: 21-05-09 and I havent dyed my hair since December 2008. I had a really long growth and it was dirty blond on black. How lovely. Im getting married in 3 months so I decided that I was done with black its so much maintenance and I always have to keep a tan so that I dont look sick all the time. So after doing lots of research on the internet I came across this and decided to give it a try. Just to put some facts straight: 1: When you mix equal parts of #1 bottle and #2 bottle make sure you mix a lot until you get a foamy consistency and apply immediately to hair (if you want it wont have the same chemical effects). 2: Test a strand of hair before.3: After your test you can apply the product on all of your hair including your new root (growth) it doesnt change your natural colour. 4: THIS WILL NOT BRING YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR BACK!!! 5: If youre not satisfied with the colour I suggest you buy hair dye and color it to your liking (Make sure to buy a lighter color that what you actually want in your hair as the hair will absorb the dye faster because the hairs are thirsty) 6. Unlike bleach this product will leave your hair nice and smooth, just make to condition properly after.7. I did not use step 3 (I was too afraid it would make them darker). 8. Product smells like perm product. Here are my results: Please note that Im waiting a couple of days before I dye them (I want to give them a break)
