BrandiKansas City, KsHairMedium BrownTried To Remove Semi-permanent Blacki used semi-perm black on my naturally medium brown hair about 5 months ago and it never washed out. i purchased colorfix before i knew it works better on permanent hair. glad i tried it anyway. it turned my hair a medium auburn color that i know i can rock. skipped step 3- don't want to mess up a live-able color. i can't imagine how my hair would turn back to black... although i won't be surprised if it does darken over the next few days.posted Feb 13, 2010Link to this post

StephanieWarner Robins, GABest "color Stripper" Out ThereThis stuff works REALLY well. It can't lift your hair past its natural color though, so don't expect to go from black to blonde if your natural color is brown. It didn't damage my hair AT ALL, but... it smells. Like... it smells like DEATH. And the house will smell like it for awhile, and so will your hair. That's my only complaint.

TishyShoulda Coulda Woulda...I tried 3 other color correction methods and THIS ONE is truly the ONE & ONLY! I followed the directions to the tee and even followed with a color application after the last step (processing lotion). However, I should have skipped the processing lotion (step 3) part. My color went from jet black to a light auburn (in ~25-20 mins or so, using only parts 1 & 2). Here's the thing, I should have left it just like that. Eventhough I want a nice color after I strip the black dye out, I would have been happy w/ the results of parts 1 & 2...Step 3, hydrogen proxoide, reacts w/ the shrunken dye molecules (shrunken from pts 1 & 2) and brings them back (I don't know the exact chemical rxn). Anyhow, next time I do this process I will DEFINITELY leave out step 3...Other than that, this is a great product soooo, good luck!posted Feb 4, 2010Link to this post

SarahLas Vegas, NVA Miracle!I can't say enough about this product!!! I just got done using it, and it is amazing! Here's my story: My hair is naturally dark blonde, but I have been coloring a light blonde shade for a few years. It looked good, but part of me had always wanted to be a redhead. So I picked up a box of Clairol Natural Instincts in Spiced Tea. It looked great. I got a ton of compliments on the color. The only problem was it wasn't permanent, so it faded quickly. I tried to duplicate the color in a permanent shade by Herbal Essence but it came out a dark burgundy color and faded quickly to a terrible pinkish color after a week. I was desperate to get it out so I tried Colorfix. I followed the instructions, and left it on for about 20 minutes. I skipped the processing lotion, because most reviews said to omit it. My hair was turning back to blonde before my eyes! It was not as light as I had previously dyed it, but it was not as dark as my natural shade. It still came out a very neutral light-medium blonde shade though with no crazy undertones. I won't even need to redye! As for the smell, it did smell a bit like home perm solution, but there are street intersections in Las Vegas that smell a lot worse. It didn't seem to do much damage. My hair feels soft, but I did notice some hair did come out as I was applying the stuff and rinsing it. Nothing major though. All in all, a great product, and I would give it 10 stars if I could!posted Jan 16, 2010Link to this post

MacVirginiaAwesome Product!I'm now a college freshman, but I started dying my hair in the 7th grade. My natural color is a dark ash blond, pretty boring. Since then, I've been every color from bleach blond to black. Most recently it was a medium to dark auburn. However, I wanted to go back to my usual light blond. After reading hundreds of reviews, I decided to try One n Only Color Fix. My hair is slightly below my collarbone, so I bought two boxes. I applied it twice in a row, and my hair was an orangey-yellow. I then applied the toner and while it took away the brassiness, it was a little darker, a light to medium auburn. I then applied the Colorfix two more times, and my hair was just yellow. I used an Ion deep conditioner packet and then applied a lightest natural blond hair dye, because I read that the porousness of the hair increases, meaning that you need to choose a dye far lighter than what you want. I found this to be true, as it turned out to be a light caramel color. It looks gorgeous, but I'm going to redye tonight in the hopes of getting a blonder shade. All in all, this saved me a ton of money and time at a hair salon. I never thought I'd be able to to blond so easily! By the way, it does smell terrible, but it's worth it! Also, it left my hair very dry after each application, but a deep conditioner fixes that easily.posted Jan 7, 2010Link to this post

LaceyLexington, KY USAHairGreyFinally Figured It Out :)Ok - I have med/dark brown hair with grays, I bought med brown hair color (I tried a new brand like an idiot) and it turned my hair jet black. I didn't know how to fix so I kept coloring it like that for 6 months and couldn't take it anymore. I used ColorFix and it turned my hair bright neon orange (which was fine so I could re-color like I wanted). I bought light ash brown color and left it on for only 5 minutes and my hair was once again jet black :( So the following day I did it all over again except this time I bought honey blond hair color which turned my hair dark brown. I'm happy. Just be careful when choosing your new hair color after using this - go WAYYYY lighter than you would ever imagine!!posted Dec 27, 2009Link to this post

RuthRaleigh, NCVery ImpressiveOK my natural hair is a dark blonde and during the past 10 years I colored every color of the rainbow. 2 yrs ago I colored dark brown, then highlighted it, then brown again, then blonde and then two months ago I bleached it to make it more blonde, the problem was that it turned blue, so I colored Deep Red and I reapply that color it was Plum!!! Then I had a job interview and I want it to tone it down so I got a level 6 ash brown and I ended with two colored hair. So after a lot of research I decided to use this product and in only 20 min it got almost all the red out, I reapply and my hair is a very natural looking warm blonde. My hair is shiny and smooth. Is true that I have a few reddish looking streaks like very subtle highlights but I liked them. The only advice is make sure you have enough product to saturate your hair and in case that you need to repeat the application, the smell is a little strong, similar to a perm but other than that is totally worth it.posted Dec 23, 2009Link to this post

JaneSyracuse, NYHairColor Treated HairWorked For Black Semi-perm. Hair ColorI have medium to dark brown hair naturally but have been dying is black using Natural Instincts semi-perm. black hair color for years. I have been to salons before to have it lightened only to leave with black hair still. I finally found color fix and tried it even though it is generally for permanent color. I used two applications for the full 20 minutes and I also applied heat. It turned my hair a really nice rich brown. The black it totally gone and I didn't even have to dye it after because the brown so nice. I have been looking for a product like this for years. Don't listen to what the hair stylists tell you, you can get black dye out of your hair without damaging it. My hair is as healty as it was before I used this product. I LOVE IT!posted Nov 18, 2009Link to this post

DezzyBurbank, California, USAGreat Product - Very Impressed!I had almost given up with my hair - I thought I was at a point of no return !!!! ...until I tried this product. I thought it was a bit expensive, but for what it did, it was worth it! My hair actually turned out better than expected! I had so many colors in my hair - from blond to auburn to dark brown, to light brown, then I tried to get my hair back to my a natural beige blond, but my hair turned orange and green!!! OMG, I tried and tried with so many colors to get it right and meticulously checked that the base would cancel out the green and then tried to get the orange out, but after about 8 different tries, I almost gave up and was at the hairdresser and she refused to work on such overprocessed hair and told me to leave my hair alone for at least a month! I told her - no way! I was not going to walk around with my hair like this! So, I read some reviews and figured the best thing I could do was use this product. And it was! My hair is soft and silky - no breakage - it actually feels like it improved the condition of my hair. And I have a light beige blond color. It's perfect! I'm impressed! I did have to do it twice - so I left it on for 20 mins and then rinsed and washed my hair and then reapplied it and left it on for another 20 mins, BUT I thought it was worth every minute and every penny! Thanks "colorfix!"posted Oct 24, 2009Link to this post
