Great Sub For Hard Protein ConditionerI use this instead of a hard protein. I don't need to use hard protein that much so this is wonderful. It is also to be used before a chemical treatement like relaxing so I also use it for that. Sodium Chloride...i Love Chi Products But Beware Of This One.Sodium Chloride is bad for any hair type. It's pure Table Salt. I used this and yes it felt good right after ...felt like my hair felt some what stronger right out of the tub ..but it wasn't until my hair dried that I experienced breakage and dryness. Now I love the Infra treatment. I tried that product and thank goodness I got lovely results. It contains Hydrolyzed keratin which is a better concentration than just keratin amino acids ... I got Stronger more softer hair even after it dried. I also love the keratin mist..I believe it is cheaper than this product ..But performs better to me. What is going on.. ?$$$$ that's all companies can do to make $$$ is create a new product and charge more. Thank goodness for products listing ingredients. And thanks to Folica for listing them here! I will continue to be a loyal customer. Sorry CHI I love some of your products but not all are good for the hair. Bottom line, Is not a horrible ingredient ..but is not a good one. Soft & Shiny Is What You'll Get!I have chemically relaxed hair that tends to be on the dry side and after 3 weeks of use this has definitely made my hair softer and shiny. Both my hairdresser and my mother made comments about the softness of my hair, I definitely want to try using the entire line just to see how great my hair can be. Great Protein Treatment For Afro-textured HairThis is a very good protein treatment. I have afro-textured hair & this made my hair very thick & strong. Following the directions, I followed up with the Deep Brilliance Moisture Treatment to soften my hair. Protein treatments tend to make the hair hard or brittle because it increases the diameter of the hair shaft by building & strengthening the protein. This left my hair shiny too, I'm assuming because of the silk protein in the ingredients & the follow up of the moisture treatment. I've tried just about every Deep Brilliance product & this was the last edition to my collection. I avoided it because I was scared it would make my hair hard & brittle, but after reading books & forums for afro-textured hair care a protein treatment (separate from a protein conditioner)is always highly recommended so I sucked it up and am very impressed with the results. I am very glad CHI added this line to their products. Most of the Deep Brilliance conditioners if not all contain olive oil including Reflect which I'm assuming is the sister version of their Silk Infusion. Another great CHI product line for afro-textured hair is CHI Organics. It's hair treatment contains many essential oils and the conditioner leaves my hair VERY shiny! I alternate between the two. I know I may seem to advocate their products, but I am so greatly impressed after buying & trying so many different things that just did not work well for my hair! - Shampoo not cleaning enough, conditioner too heavy, greasy oily gunk... They've hit the nail on the head with this line. I must say though, & hopefully they (CHI) will see the need, the deep brilliance line should contain a daily moisturizer which is a MUST for afro-textured hair.posted Jan 13, 2010Link to this post
