Bain de Terre Sugar & Fig Scalp Scrub

BethMarylandNot For PostpartumI actually really liked this product. It smells delicious. It felt wonderful. I couldnt tell if it left my hair soft because after I washed it out I used their reconstructive recovery (which I absolutely LOVED!). However, I recently had a baby and so my hair has been falling out. As soon as I used this scrub I had way more hair come out in the shower than I usually do. It was kind of alarming. So I like the product, but I wont be using it anytime soon. Maybe when my hair goes back to normal. If you had a baby in the last year, I do not recommend it.posted Oct 3, 2010Link to this post

LianaHairColor Treated HairWake-up Call!I apparently have an old "freebie" of this stuff, too, like the person in the "Why? Why???" review, which is hilarious! Anyway, I thought it was conditioner and was pleasantly surprised this morning, when I realized it was scalp scrub. I enjoyed using it, especially since I just colored my hair last night, and I think the scrub may have removed some skin cells that had turned pink from the red-based color I use. This stuff smells great and feels great, and I love it!posted May 25, 2010Link to this post

EmilyGreat For Flaking Winter ScalpI am loving this scrub. my scalp flakes in the winter mostly because it is dry from the indoor heat but also because there is such a build up of dead skin this product cleared the dead skin away while moisturizing my scalp and my hair also felt great. I read the poor review and that person is wrong I am a hairdresser and look at heads all day.Your scalp and your hair are 2 different things and if your scalp is not healthy(dry) it prevents the natural oils from traveling down the hair and the oil is what protects your hair and gives it shine. Hence your hairdresser always telling you not to wash your hair so much because you are drying it out. hope this helpsposted Jan 27, 2010Link to this post

KatieLincolnWonderful Ingredients!I generally don't right reviews, but the negative review was such a crock. She got it free and NEVER used it or it seems read what was in it or even how to use it. BTW, I have nothing to do with Bain de Terre so I'm not being paid to post this. First this isn't the same type sugar scrub you use on your skin, these are very fine grains that easily & quickly dissolve on wet hair. And second, the mix of ingredients used help insure you don't damage new growth and since scalp is skin it does need exfoliating and product is a lot gentler on your head & new growth than your average dandruff shampoo.posted Jan 1, 2010Link to this post

Sophie ChenHillsborough, NJ, USAWhy? Why???I cringe at leaving a negative review, because I simply ADORE Folica. I've ordered my Solia from Folica (which they replaced when it broke, effortlessly and hassle-free) and a waving iron from Folica. However, a scalp scrub? Ahh! Just the thought of it makes me cringe! I have to start by admitting that I received this, complimentary I suppose, with my replacement iron but have never used this- but before you discount my opinion, just listen to what I have to say. This product received great reviews on Amazon and the like, because it smells/feels good. But the real, medical, scientific effect on your HAIR is nothing but detrimental! It's true that a healthy scalp is necessary for healthy hair. And it's true that scrubs and exfoliating products are good for your skin (I have eczema and ichthyosis, so believe me, exfoliation is a necessity). But exfoliation and hair do NOT mix!!!! Hair does not repair itself or turn over new cells as skin does. Hair is 'DEAD' from the isntant it grows out of your scalp. Things like flat-irons, curling irons, teasing (I will never ever ever tease my hair), and everyday wear and tear wear away and remove the outer layers of your hair shaft, the cuticles. This is BAD. When your hair leaves your head, at the roots, it's the healthiest, softest, and shiniest because the cuticle layers of each hair are smooth and undamaged. Over time, these layers are broken off, roughened, etc. and that's why hair is so weak and unhealthy at the ends. So a scrub, to exfoliate your scalp? You are basically SANDING AWAY AT the healthiest hair you have, at your roots! So sure, maybe it smells nice and maybe it feels really nice, but in the long run you are doing nothing but seriously damaging your hair! Folica, please stop selling this product!posted Dec 19, 2009Link to this post
