    Doesn't Rinse Out
You'll see from one other review that her complaint is the same. This line of hair care is very expensive, yet it's no better than any other run of the mill conditioner. The odor is awful. It smells like a department store perfume counter with the stench of multiple strong fragrances assaulting your nose. And it just won't rinse out. My water heater ran out of hot water and my hair was still sticky. I used half the bottle to give it a chance, but gave up. The buildup in my hair wasn't worth it.

The shampoo isn't bad, so I don't know what the deal is with this conditioner. Perhaps if you have very coarse, difficult to control hair, it would work for you. If someone with fine or thin hair would use it, it would stick her/his hair down to his/her scalp like glue.

    Give it a pass.

    Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!
I NEVER write reviews on products, but I've been so dissatisfied with this line of hair care that I just had to post this review. My husband bought me the VERY expensive Alterna Caviar Volume shampoo/conditioner for my birthday earlier this month, and I have had nothing but problems ever since. I have very run-of-the-mill hair. Nothing too demanding...it's color-treated and curly, but not damaged or overly-dry. The conditioner is SO ineffective. I leave it in for longer than usual (about 5 minutes), and it has NEVER felt like it's rinsed out of my hair. Plus, it leaves my hair in horrible tangles and is impossible to brush without feeling pain. Suffice it to say, my hair is definitely not shiny, soft, or manageable when it comes time to style. Because the conditioner leaves my hair feeling so unhealthy, I have yet to use my straightener for fear that I will completely damage my hair. The shampoo is even worse. It's super thick, doesn't lather well, and leaves my hair feeling disgusting. No matter how long I rinse, my hair never feels clean. The worst part about this duo is that it has given me the worst scalp itch of my life, and it's due to the build-up in my hair as a result of the product NOT RINSING OUT OF MY HAIR! I could stand under the shower head for 10 minutes and still not get all of it out. It's horrible horrible HORRIBLE! I will NEVER buy anything from this brand again in my life. I only use high quality salon products. I've never had scalp itch. I've never had a problem with products NOT rinsing out of my hair. Alterna Caviar products are a waste of money...do NOT buy them! Save your money and go with a less-expensive but higher quality brand like Kenra or Joico! If money is not an issue, then go with Pureology...you really can't get a better brand than that!
