PonDoes This Product Work In Asia Like Thailand 220wthis is my only hope..i am going to Thailand in Dec ..and wondering if this product will work over thereReply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post

JenYou Need Voltage TransformerIt says 110V, so you need a voltage converter that transforms 220V to 110V. Make sure that your voltage as well as wattage is compatible. You can purchase a converter in the US and take it with you (in that case purchase spare fuses as well) or purchase it when you get to Thailand. I bought a hair straightener in the US and have been using it in Asia (220V) with a heavy duty converter. The only problem is that when my hair curler broke, there was no way to fix it. Shipping back to the states was the only option. If you are going to Thailand for a short trip, I would recommend against taking it with you. Voltage converter is quite heavy. Another option is buy the unit with dual voltage and purchase an adapter. FIY: Voltage converter is different from an adapter that merely changes the shape of a plug-in.Oct 17, 2011Link to this post

DotHave Bought Several Steamers And They Don't Last. What the heck am I doing wrong. I have bought at least six steamers over the past ten years. They always quit on me. I have hundreds of curlers cause I keep buying new sets and the curlers come with it. I would love to just buy the steamer but dont see where that is available. I dont know why my steamers dont last. I use distilled water and clean the unit with vinegar regularly but the unit stops working way too soon. I have taken them apart too, to see if maybe its just a case of a loose wire but havent had any luck. Am I the only one in the world to have this problem. I love the way the unit curls but cant seem to keep one alive and they are just too expensive to keep replacing like this.Reply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post

Lisa PizzaI think if you turn the steamer unit over after you are done steaming and its unplugged, it drains the excess water out the top of the unit. In fact, once my steamer wouldnt start steaming so I did that, turned it over, gave it a shake and then tried again and it worked. These steamers somehow get clogged even though you are using distilled water. I think it is imperative that you remove all water from the unit each time you are done using it. I have the same Caruso steamer for years now. I love it. Peace out hope this helps.Feb 25, 2010Link to this post

Denae In Atlanta. - Relaxed HairAtlanta, GAHave Bought Several Steamers And They Don't Last.Try sticking a pin or needle in the hole where the steam comes from and move it around a little. I have done this several times to clean out the debris.. and it should restart and work like brand new again.Feb 25, 2010Link to this post

AndreaHave Bought Several Steamers And They Don't Last. With much interest I read the feedback on the website re the Caruso cold steam curling unit. Like others, I owned the original steamer which required salt (I used corn starch). It was great - lasted for 10 years (but didnt use it most of the time - just occasionally). A year ago I bought the newer version. Its quite inferior. It takes longer to steam, doesnt steam as much and died after a year. I have used it frequently: probably almost daily for 6 months. Ill probably buy another - but dont know why we have to purchase MORE ROLLERS when all I need is the steamer unit. Overall, I find this product is easy, quick, doesnt dry out my colored hair. I only leave rollers in a few minutes because my fine hair just needs a little body.AndreaFeb 25, 2010Link to this post

AaziWorks On All Types Of Hair I've TriedIt is worth the investment. I bought my first Caruso 15 years ago, and I gave it away to my sister-in-law (regretably, because they don't make the one with the salt anymore). I have since bought another, and I can't live without it. I am a mom of twins and hardly have time to do my hair. I just pop these rollers in - and by the time I'm done with my make-up (5-7 minutes) I pull them out and run my fingers through the curls and I'm done. I don't use product either. Now, I have thick, coarse hair which takes curls pretty easily, but I've used this on my mom, who has silky, straight hair, my sisters, both have soft, broom straight hair and even my dad, who's hair is the softest and finest of them all! The curls take in everyone's. The difference is how long the curls last. You might need some product to hold the curls, but I've never seen anyone who the Caruso doesn't work for. I've given at least a dozen as gifts, and never heard any complaints. I think you should take the plunge!Dec 6, 2011Link to this post

PaigeFLFlat, Fine Color Treated HairI am no longer getting my hair colored as it has become so tangly it is like a brillo pad after shampooing. Then I have to put so much conditioner in that it looks dull. I have found the Caruso ionic steam rollers do add shine but the curl is not as good as with a curling iron.I am following the directions and only steaming the curler for 6-7 seconds (actually 4-5 would be the directions but I got so little from that I went longer). Am I doing something wrong here? I also steam the roller cover.I also find the covers very hard to get on. They must be aligned exactly right. That is hard to do in the back of my head where I cant see. Anyone know of a good way to match them up quickly? Thanks if there is a reply out there.PaigeReply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post
