How To Get The Most Out Of FlatironsThe fist complaint I hear about flatirons is that "it takes too long/makes my hair frizzy/doesnt make my hair straight", all essentially the same result of a single mistake Not using the flatiron correctly. The most common mistake is simply putting too much hair into each pass. If you put too much hair in the flatiron, the heat and Ionic charge wont reach all of the hair and you will wind up with frizzy hair that takes too long to dry, plus youll probably wind up pulling some hairs out. Sectioning off your hair takes time, but not as much time as doing it wrong. Ideally you want to divide all of your hair into four sections with jawclips. Elastics will work in a pinch. Each section is then done piece by piece, you start at the scalp and take a thin section no more than a finger length and less than a finger thick, it doesnt matter if the pieces are horizontal, vertical, whatever. Start the flatiron at the scalp and draw it slowly down to the end, each inch should get at least a second, and the ends my need a little longer.
