MoUnited StatesBlue Paint Is There To Stay :)I've had my Solia flat iron for years now. It's as great today as it was when I first bought it, and none of the "blue paint" has come off! It's still like new and I use it often, but I take care of it, and am careful never to drop it, to avoid any damage to the unit. I hope that helps :)Sep 26, 2011Link to this post

Stephani T.Lake Jackson, TXPaint Won't Come OffI bought this exact flat iron back in 2003 and I have used it 2-3 times a week since I got it. The blue paint has never come off/chipped or even thinned out. It still looks the same as when I bought it. I can't say enough good about this flat iron. I did a lot of research and even used my roommate's Chi for a month before deciding. I think this one is way better than the Chi and I constantly get comments on how smooth it makes my hair and when people borrow it every single one of them tell me their hair has never felt silkier. In the 7 years of owning it the only thing that is not the same as when I purchased it, is that the round Solia clip that goes over the hinge popped off about a year ago when I dropped it on our tile floor. You won't be dissapointed by this iron, I think its the best, and after years of using the same flat iron I can atest to its great quality.Dec 30, 2010Link to this post

MelissaUnited StatesYupI'm a black girl with relaxed hair and I have the 1.25 in version of this iron. It gets my hair very straight - including my new growth, which is natural and very curly. I used this flat iron on Sunday night to straighten my hair and my new growth is still straight and smooth, but not burnt. You should definitely try it, but if you want your hair to stay straight all day, try a heat protection agent that also fights frizz (but try to find one without silicone in it).Nov 9, 2011Link to this post

Leah H.TexasWorks On All Types :)I was always the friend who got enlisted to do other peoples hair in high school and one of my best friends had super thick, super kinky and curly hair that was impossible to manage without a relaxer. With this, I was able to iron her hair STRAIGHT (of course with the help of hairspray) and it would last for at the very least a full day if she didn't wash it.Nov 2, 2011Link to this post

JocelynLoooove ItThis flat iron will do wonders for your hair. When I was making the transition form processed to natural hair, this flat iron kept all of my new growth looking and feeling as if I just received a perm or a magnificent blow out. It lasted for a a week and a half! (Until my next washing) Although NO two hair types are EXACTLY alike and i am speaking from my own personal experiences, I think if you're looking for a heavy duty iron to get the job done (and make it last) this may be a good buy for you.Feb 7, 2011Link to this post
