For All The Sista'sMy personal word of advice for other black women (and people with "black hair") is to get a home dryer system and deep condition every week. Most of the conditioners we use have a "for more conditioning, use plastic cap and sit under dryer for 5 minutes" type message. If you do this, follow the directions and DO rinse it out. (Your hair will be jacked up if you leave it in.) Then, use a foam hair wrap product to smooth that bad boy into the direction youll be wearing it. Sit under the dryer and paint your toenails for 30 min or until your hair is dry, dry, dry. Break out the flat iron and voila! I dont have to put any other product in it and it is SHINY and light. (At the same time, Im still trying to figure out what that magic substance silkener is that my hairdresser uses...) I realize not everyone will be up for such a weekly ritual but my stubborn hair will not submit to anything less. The whole process takes about two hours. Good luck! SUMMARY: 1. Shampoo 2. Deep condition 3. Foam wrap 4. Solia flat iron!Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

My Beauty SecretWhat I find to work great for me is to wash my hair once or twice a week and do the following steps: 1* Shampoo & Condition (whatever shampoo & conditioner you prefer) 2* Towel dry a little and put in a leave-in conditioner and comb through (I use Elasta QP but I havent tried to use anything else www.makeupalley.com can help you pick out a good leave-in conditioner thats right for you) 3* Let hair air dry for a few minutes and then put two or three pumps of LOreal Studio Line Anti-Frizz Cream in my hair and comb through (you may prefer to use something else, www.makeupalley.com can help you pick this out as well)*(This step is optional--The first time I used the iron I didnt use this and it still did fine, although since I dont wash my hair everyday I find that the results last three days longer when I use this.)* 4* Blow dry until almost completely dry or completely dry (depends on the mood Im in that day, I get the same results) 5* Run Solia through hair (I find that putting my hair in sections works best) and VOILA! You should end up with a DO that lasts for days. ^_^ FYI: There is no need to worry about your hair feeling greasy or weighed down with the LOreal Anti-Frizz Cream. You cant really overdo it. Two or three pumps is sufficient for shoulder-length hair which is what I have.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

Solia Hair Tips1. Rather than blow dry hair, let it dry naturally but dont ruffle the towel all over hair because that makes hair frizzy. If you do blow dry hair use it on low heat, it reduces the damage. 2. Rub a small amount of Frederic Fekkais glossing cream between fingers and evenly distribute throughout the hair to add manageability and shine. Extra Step: If you have alot of frizz or if your hair is curly apply Frederic Fekkais Straight Away (of any Straightening cream/balm) to tame frizz and help straighten hair before using the ceramic iron. 3. Add the finishing touches by spraying Oscar Blandi Jasmine Protein Mist, its a leave-in moisturizing spray essential to all hair types for detangling and fortifying. This mist penetrates hair and repairs it from within. It also rids the hair of excessive oils and keeps hair fresh and smelling great because of the naturally derived jasmine fragrances. Im promoting this product alongside the Solia because this product is great for styling and restyling before or aftering using the Solia. 4. Set heat at 300 degrees on the Solia, Its hot enough but not to hot for straightening my medium fairly thick coarse hair. Than separate the hair into 3 parts and straighten away~!!! It usually takes me 15-20 mins to straighten my hair. 5. Once or twice a week I use Frederic Fekkai Apple Cider Clearing Rinse, it rids the hair of product buildup while adding shine, softness, and silkiness. Any kind of clarifying shampoo will work but I love the smell of this product. By using a clarifying shampoo it allows styling products to work better.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

That particular combination makes my hair look and feel like a models!!! It will be the best thing you have ever done!Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

The Best Hair You Will Ever Have!It took a long time before i developed this routine but now that I have I must say how fabulous it is. I first watch my hair with Garnier Frutis Shampoo and Conditioner for dry, frizzy or rebellious hair (occasionally I use Loreal Vive Shampoo and conditioner for dry, frizzy or rebelious hair). Next, I towel dry my hair and when my hair is no long soaking wet, I apply a dime size amount of sleek.look by matrix (the light version). This product is the very because it not only protects against frizz, but it also protects your hair for temps. up to 450 degrees! I then blow dry my hair staight using a round brush, doing it in layers. After my hair is dry, I put in a dime size of biosilk and iron my hair with the Solia at 370 degrees. Keep in mind, that if you different shampoo or conditioner, you will still have the same results. Pick a shampoo+ cond. that best suits your hair and the one u get best results from. Hopefully your hair will turn out just as healthy and smooth as mine have! Good luck :)Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post
