Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (...Cooler Setting, No ProductI was concerned about using a hot iron on my hair, so I looked for a product to protect it. There are, in theory, products specifically for hot irons that protect hair to 450F (if you believe the claims of the products): Paul Mitchell and Matrix are the only 2 brands I found who make such a product. I ended up buying the Matrix product called "sleek.look". The problem is, though, my hair got greasy and gross at the end of the day when using the product. Basically, if I use the sleek.look, my hair needs to be washed the next day. But if I have to iron my hair after each time I wash it, that means washing and ironing it each day, which cant be good for the hair. So instead, I use the iron at a lower setting, between 300F and 350F, with NO PRODUCT. The iron does a GREAT job, and my hair stays nice and straight until I wash it again 2 or 3 days later. I occasionally have to touch up my cowlick, but thats all.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post -
Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (...Frizz Free!I used to straighten my hair, then put a lot of products on it to keep it straight. My hair would almost always be frizzy within an hour, and I couldnt figure out why! I asked the lady that did my hair, and she said that some products actually draw moisture to the hair!!! My tip would be to put any frizz cream or shine serum in your hair right after you wash it. Then straighten it, and your hair should stay pretty smooth.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post -
Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (...When Using OverseasI brought my solia to the UK with me as I really cant live without it, so I bought a converter to use in the UK..and the only thing I can say is DONT DO IT!! Because of the voltage difference, the iron went twice as hot (i usually use it on the highest setting) so not only did I run it over my hair and it sizzled, but the entire iron melted right in front of me and almost burned down the room! SO my tip is to leave your beloved iron at home! I am now going to purchase the pink solia to replace that little mishap!Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post -
Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (...Best Hair Conditioner Ever!I recently discovered this product when used with Solia flat iron. Its Garnier Fructis Deep conditioner. It doesnt only make my hair shine but eliminates split ends. Just apply after shampoo rinse after 3 minutes. Use Solia flat iron and your hair is sleek and shine!Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post -
Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (...Kms Flat OutI used to find that even just blow drying my hair caused it to feel brittle and damaged, so I was scared to straighten it, incase I went bald. However, I found ksm flat out in the knick of time. This weightless product sprays onto your hair and protects it from heat up to 450 (I think), and repels frizz and humididty. After blowdrying my hair shone like crazy and felt soft to to the touch, something which has never happened before. Using it with the solia was like heaven, my hair felt amazing afterwards, it really felt healthy. I got compliments on my hair frequently.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post
