    Listen To Me!!!
1.Brush your hair and take all of your knots out. 2.Do not put any hairspray or sticky chemicals in your hair before you strighten. 3.Use the correct temperature setting, some flat irons have there setting in celsius,to conver celsius do: 95 times the temperature in celsius and add 32. 4.Do one area at a time, banana clips are usefull! 5.After you are done, spray a hair polisher in to get luminate shine. 6.Wash your hair every other day, washing it every day is damaging! 7.Use deep conditioner and let it remain in your hair for three min. Here is a top for blow drying your hair: after your hair is dry, most blow dryers come with a cool button, hold that button down for one min any you will get better results.

    Product & Volume Suggestions
If you want to ensure your hair will be healthy and shiny even after all the flat ironing, you should try Pureology hair products. When Im going to straighten my hair, I use the SuperStraight shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Once my hair is dry, I put some SuperStraight Relaxing Serum in it to protect from the heat of the iron and add shine. But dont use too much or your hair will feel greasy. Once Im done straightening, if I want some extra shine, I use just a little of the ShineMax from Pureology. The SuperStraight system comes in blue bottles and the ShineMax comes in a little purple bottle. They have products for colored hair as well that are supposed to help retain the color longer. All these products are pretty concentrated so you dont have to use much of any of them. They can be found at many salons but they arent cheap. If youre willing to pay the price theyre truly worth it. My hair has never been softer or healthier. If you find your hair is too flat after ironing, try turning down the heat a little. This makes quite a difference for me in adding some volume.

    Straight, Silky, Healthy Hair
My hair WAS frizzy, curly, Poofy and all out ugly, it looked like brown cotton candy after a tornado. it is color treated. now it is smooth, silky, the most shiny and swingy straight i have ever seen. i never thought i could have hair like this. i tried everything and have finally figured out the best way to get my hair to look so good. what works, you ask? here is what i do:I used Easy Straight 3 month strightner-follow directions to a tee! you may not need this, follow my tips first! my hair now is straighter, and takes only 1/4 of the time to dry but still not perfect yet- Shampoo and condition and towel dry GENTLY-do not mash or scrub the hair-only the scalp-gently smoooth the hair shaft from top to bottom-dont rub the hair up and down, and to dry, gently press moisture out of the hair in a towel. use the products you like-read the ingredients-you will be surprised to see the same ingredients in the less expensive products that you find in the pricey ones. USE a deep conditioner once a week-leave on for half an hour or more, wrap in a hot towel or use plastic bag/cap with a blow dryer. ALWAYS RINSE WITH COOL WATER! Use a clarifiying shampoo every other shampoo. try not to wash every day, i wash my hair 2-3 times a week)Air dry-or blow dry using a blow dryer with an ION switch-this really helps. use a gentle setting--you dont want a windstorm--and use low heat. dont dry it till it is bone dry-and point the dryer down the hair shaft to keep the cuticle closed-use your fingers to gently separate hair to get roots. dont brush or comb when it is wet--this is when the hair is most vulnerable to damage. when your hair is 75% dry, use a wide tooth comb to take out knots from the ends first working your way up to the roots. separate into four sections with the claw clips. use a ceramic flat iron-i hear the sedu does not snag your hair-so i am saving to buy one. to flat iron-i use a brush that looks like a flat iron with bristles-the one i have is ceramic, and locks with a button when closed over the hair strand. use small strands-i follow the brush with the flat iron down the hair strand--keep the iron moving-make a few passes, then clip the straightned lock out of the way. i start at the top in the front and work my way down and around to the back, one side at a time. i clip the finished piece over the top of my head onto the other side, and add more finished hair to the clip. it took a little practice, but now it only takes me around 45 minutes as opposed to the 4 to 5 hours it used to take before easy straight and the ceramic brush and flat iron. when i am done, if my hair is full of static, i use my favorite scented fabric softner-i put a drop-the size of a pea-and rub into my palms and smooth through my hair-darn it smells soooo goooood! no fly-aways and shiny! i dont use any product in my hair to iron it, it stays clean longer and has more body. product which seals the hair shaft actually pops like popcorn when heat is applied. very damaging. apply product after flat ironing if you have to. also important is the temp of the flat iron. if your hair shaft diameter is thin, use a lower setting, more on the thick side, a higher temp is better. keep the iron moving, alternate the pass of flat iron brush with the flat iron, LET THE STRAND COOL before you clip it out of the way. for me, a high temp actually seem to help my hair avoid frizzing in rain and high humidity, straightens faster and the it lasts until my next shampoo(sometimes a whole week). i use the flat iron at 400 degrees, i have a very thick hair diameter. when you start at the bottom back of your head, hair seems to tangle up. the way i do it, the finished hair is out of the way, on top at the other side and the unfinished hair is out of the way down below, while you iron a strand straight out from your head between the two. lifting and resting the hair up and over also give the root a little lift so your hair is not flat against your head when finished. and finally, practice, practice, practice! dont give up, it gets easier each time you do it! Good Luck!

    Sedu....tips For Straightening Your Hair
The SEDU is MUCH, MUCH better than the CHI. I believe its in the technology of the plates. This product is AWESOME Here are the steps I followed. I just posted pictures under the Customer Review section. So please feel free to check out my before and after pictures. 1. Wash: Wella Color Preserve - Smoothing Shampoo for Coarse, Frizzy Hair - 12oz = $13.95 2. Condition: Wella Color Preserve - Smoothing Conditioner for Coarse, Frizzy Hair - 12 oz = $13.95 3. Leave In Conditioner: Wella Color Preserve Detangler - 12 oz = $14.95 - Sit under hair dryer for 10-20 minutes.....let it get 75% dry 4. LOreal Studio Line Hot Straight (Heat-Activated Straightening Cream) - 5 oz = $2.99 - Put in hair before blow drying hair completely, you may need to section the hair in 4 parts (depending on thickness & length) 5. John Freida Extra Strength Hair Serum - 1.69oz = $7.99 - part hair in 4 sections, put serum on hair, THEN USE YOUR SEDU AT the desired temperature (i used 360*)........ 6. Final shine (takes any static the hair may have out)....use KeraCare Conditioning Creme Hairdress - 4oz = $10.00 - I use this b/c my hair tends to be dry and I need the extra moisturizing. I put this on my hair after Ive completed my flat ironing and I also use it twice daily: 1x in the morning and 1x in the evening before bed. SEDU is AWESOME....heats up quick, very light weight. I used the 360* temperature, I thought I needed the highest setting, but it gets nice and hot!!! Ive always gone to the salon to have my hair professionally done, so Im new to doing my own hair. I did lots of research before buying the Sedu and its MUCH better than the CHI, which is what most black hair stylist use in their salons. I was fed up with relaxers and not proper maintenance of my hair so I deceided to take the step of no longer getting a relaxer and doing my own hair. I did get a good cut/trim a week ago a great Salon in Chicago, a good cut, wash & deep condition goes a long way, which will give you better results! GOOD LUCK!

Use Sedu In Conjunction With A Healthy Hair Regime - African American Natural Hair
Sedu is a fabulous product for my natural, super curly African American hair. But it must be used in conjunction with a healthy hair regime. Here are five steps to a fabulous, wavy curly look. Step 1: Moisturizing shampoo (my favorite is Phytocadamia, available at Neiman Marcus or online). Step 2: Moisturizing conditioner (my favorite is Phytojobo Restructuring conditioner - Neiman Marcus or online). This is the most important step. Preferably once a week, use heat to condition the hair. You can use this by sitting under a hard hat, or using the Corel portable plastic cap dryer (very convenient). Corel is available at Sallys. I can always tell when I skip the deep conditioning step. Dont quote me, but I think the deep conditioning opens the hair shaft and makes it more susceptible to adding condition to the hair, which makes it softer and smoother. Step 3: Dry/style the hair (rollerset). I first apply about 3 quarter sized dollops of Aveda elixir (leave in conditioner). I also spray with a protein spray (I use D. Low protein spray, made by a woman in Atlanta who specializes in pressed hair, but any spray that will add strength to the hair will work). I then section off my hair using a wide tooth seamless comb (the white Madora comb available online). Next, I add a dimes worth of Kiehls silk groom (available at Neiman Marcus), and roller set my hair. Because my hair is near bra length, it takes a minimum of 1 hour and 45 minutes to dry. But the time passes by using my Corel plastic cap dryer, because I can take a nap while my hair dries. Step 4: Flat iron with Sedu. I prefer to use some form of heat protectant, and an oil based pressing cream. I like Biosilk Silk therapy (available at Ulta) as a heat protectant, but it does absolutely nothing for moisture. Therefore, I use a pin drop of Keracare pressing cream (available at Ulta) or Coconut oil (a solid butter like substance that turns into a smooth oil when rubbed between your fingers, available at most health food stores) on each section that is flat ironed. Using a small amount keeps my hair soft, but not overly greasy or weighed down. Step 5: If I am styling my hair at night, I then roll my hair using satin covered velcro rollers (available at select Walgreens, usually the ones in an ethnic neighborhood). I roller set while my hair is still warm, which helps to set the curl. The result: Awesomely soft, smooth, curls or waves, depending upon which size roller you use. Sedu is an awesome product, and an important step in my regime!
