      Dual Voltage Straightener
I would suggest purchasing a dual voltage straightener, with an adapter plug purchased separately, you could use the straightener at home or when you are traveling. I purchased a TIGIPRO and the iron has dual voltage built in, you do not even have to chose which setting you need. And it's a great flat iron.

      Voltage Issue
I live in Cork (Ireland), and because of the voltage being 110 - 120 it's not possible to use here in Europe (our voltage 210 - 220).. Any ideas on the "best next thing" for Europe?

Someone asked why a lot of heat comes off their hair when they flat iron. Two things could be happening. One, you have product on your hair before you straighten and heat is generating from of the product on your hair. Two, you have the flat iron up too high. I hope this helps.
