  • Squeeze!!
I have noticed that the more taughtly you squeeze on the plates, the flatter and shinier your hair gets. It is hard to say in words, but take a section of hair, and starting at the root pull the iron through the hair, holding and squeezing FIRMLY on the plates. Youll love the results.

as people have said before it helps if you put some type of product in your hair before/while you straighten it. for medium hair like mine you should you a light hairspray over each section before you straighten it. for coarser hair for might want to maybe put in some styling lotion when its wet for extra hold later. please never ever straighten wet or even damp hair! (im VERY skeptical about those wet to dry straightners) so its best to use probably an fine mist hairspray, that wont get your hair too wet (because your hair cuticle can burst if there is water in it and it starts to boil!). also use a COMB when straightening your hair, it really very easy even on my long hair. the hair straightner really gets too hot for you to just touch your hair after, plus it really does prevent hair damage and thats what they do in salons! i always turn the setting up to 200 degrees so if you having problems with your hair not staying straight add a holding product like hairspray and make the straighner hotter. you hair really should not get frizzy even during humidity and stay nice straight until you want to wash it.

  • No Oil
if your hair is oily and you use a flat iron, it will just look worse. Make sure that you wash your hair thouroughly before you straighten it. For best results, dont straiten directly at the roots unless you have very curly of frizzy hair. (Another tip-- use a good hairspray evenly after you straighten, and then brush your hair.. it will stay perfect all day!)

  • Plate Size - 1" Or 1.5"
I have always bought the 2" irons to save myself time in the past. I have hair that isnt overly thick but it is past my shoulders. I took a chance and ordered the 1" this time and am quite happy with it - it gets out the kinks that I get in my bangs and closer to my scalp. You only need the 1.5" if your hair is really curly or thick.

Which Size Sedu Is Best For Me?
My hair is past my shoulders, very thick and curly. I know I should probably get the 1 1/2 inch Sedu because my first one was that size, but, it was hard for me to curl my hair with it. Is the 1 inch any easier to curl with? If the 1 1/2 inch size is okay to curl with and maybe I was just doing it wrong the first time, then I'll go back to that. But, if the 1 1/2 inch IS hard to curl then I'm guessing the 1 inch would be easier. What do you think?

  • Is Your Hair Dry-sun Damaged Or Just In Need Of Hydration?
I found! the one thing that allows my brown hair to be colored within the time frame I need without burning it!! I found not only something that works for my hair but when on vacation in the bahamas.-- I used it on my body after drenching my hair to be out on the beach..and it works as a wonderful hydrator for even the skin. I will never ever go on vacation w/out it...nor will I color my hair w/out it. OJON! it is a number ONE product in my house. course hair just is not a problem anymore. -my hair drying! before drying off after shampooing!..??? Nope *s* - it is hydrated so well. and my natural curl looks great instead of a mop. LOVE IT. -- give it a try you will be soo happy you did.
