NicolePossibility To Curl?I am seriously considering splurging and buying the Sedu but I want to know if it is possible to also curl your hair with the 1 1/2" plate? I often curl the ends with the straightener I have now. I'm not sure I would buy the Sedu if the option to curl my hair was gone. Please let me know what you think. WhitneyCurling Your Hair With The Sedu...I recently bought this straightener in order to use it as an alternative to a curling iron. It does a lovely job of straightening, but for all intents and purposes it seems that it does not have a swivel cord. Thus, when you twist it around in order to work in a curl, the cord tangles up like an old-fashioned phone cord. Also make sure to look at the profile (side) picture of the straightener because it has a feature like most cheaper models...an exposed spring part near the end where you place your hand. (This is absent on the original Chi or mine that just died and also is the reason why I am buying the Solia 1 3/4" iron to replace this return.) Sorry I do not have a better way to describe this, but it is a poor design choice because as you squeeze the iron you end up catching your hair in that area and then ripping it out.Dec 30, 2010Link to this post

StephNope, Sorry =(I have this iron and am not able to use it to make curls. The plates are far too large at 1 1/2 inch and the edges are straight and not curved. I recently purchased the revolution which is ideal for curls and great to completely flat iron. Hope this helps.Dec 28, 2010Link to this post

Natasha B....No, you are not able to curl your hair with this hair iron because it has flat plates not rounded ones. Also usually the maximum size for irons that can curl your hair to is 1 and a fourth inch. Also make sure that when u read the product details that it says that your able to curl or flip your hair or look at review. Candice1 1/2" Vs. 1" SeduI have the 1 1/2" Sedu and love it. I bought it over two years ago and have never had any problems with it. I have very tight curls underneath, but wavy curls on top. My hair is also very thick. I recently had it professionally straightened, but still need to flat-iron it smooth.
