i am half puerto rican and half black and with this california weather you dont know what to expect so i try this routine that makes straighting easy 1. wash hair with Garnier Fructis 9 (shampoo and conditioner) 2. Dry your hair and completely untangle 3. part into four sections, top and bottom, left and right 4. pass the iron down your hair softly not rough do this until entire hair is sraight 5. finish off with Garnier Sleek and Shine, makes your hair smell wonderful and leaves it smooth

  • Flawless Hair Every Time
I have hair that is naturally curly and frizzy, also very thick. This routine works amazing for me. 1. Wash with Redken Smooth Down Shampoo. 2. Condition with Redken Butter treat. I leave it in while I wash and shave in the shower. Rinsing it out is the last thing I do because I want it to moisturize my hair well. When you do rinse, be sure you rinse very well. 3. towel dry hair. 4. use 2-3 pumps of Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine Anti frizz serum. 5. Blow dry hair with a round brush with natural bristles. 6. Add 1-2 more pumps of the sleek n shine. 7. Spray with Chi Iron Guard 44. 8. Divide into sections and iron with your sedu. My hair comes out smooth and flawless every time.

  • Hair Irons And All Dat
Dear readers, I have had fun reading and checking out the results of different irons for the last 2 days ( yup I am that jobless). I love the before and after pictures ...esp the smiles when sedu does it all. I am of north Indian origion and have very very good hair, thick and with a wave to it. The sedu is great ...but with all heat treatments there is some hair damage. no ifs and buts! I dont believe in heavy product use... frankly I am astound at the amount of time fellow women spend on getting straight hair and then a healthy shine. I have a tried and tested method which works great for me as well as my friend of african-american origin( man she has kinky hair) and a blond friend. Heres what we do. 1. We buy in bulk the shikaki shampoo sold in whole foods stores all over, divide in to 3 bottles. Its extremely mild and dont be worried by the drying effect u will feel on afro hair. 2. Once a week we oil our hair and steam it with coconut oil. apply oil to scalp and work it down to the ends ...do not use excess. dip a towel in hot water and twist till all the water gets out ... spread open the towel and immediatly turn hair upside down and wrap. Thats steaming it. 3. Use half a dollor amount of the shampoo( its herbal), work later and rise ... the last rinse being in cold water. 4. Use ur regular conditioner. make sure u use little coz hair gets awfully used to conditioners n stuff and will behave badly on days u dont use it. 5. dry hair gently. comb thru with wide tooth comb and dont yank. Gentle does the trick. Use ur sedu and u will have wonderful results. Also once in 2 weeks we blend half an egg yolk with the shampoo and use it on our hair. Its a wonderful protein treatment. once a month we use deep conditioning ( more often if u have colour treated hair) ...the product we use is Keune (lecitol) ...Its an awesome product ...superior saloon quality. I hope u enjoy taking care of hair our method. Nilo, Kylie, Natalie

  • Helps Reallly Dry Hair-
i use to have really dry hair b/c i blowdryed and straightened it so much but then is started doing this: 1)i use samy shampoo and conditioner for dry hair 2)before i blowdry my hair i let it air dry for about half an hour in a towel 3)then when im ready to blowdry i put rusk wired serum in my damp hair which decreases the time it takes. 4)i use the warm air setting on my blowdryer and low-medium setting on my straightener 5)after im all done straightening i follow w/ paul mitchell glos drops.

  • Size Does Matter.
So my hair is medium-long length, a couple inches past my shoulders. I thought the Sedu 1-1/2 inch was the right size for my hair length [especially if I chose to grow it out really long] and that it would take less time to straighten my hair with a bigger plate. But now I wish Id looked into the 1 inch Sedu before buying the bigger one. Because a 1 inch iron can make curls as well as straighten. Unless your hair is very long and you dont want a straightener that can also be used for curls, Id look into the 1 inch. :]
