Ive tried the Chi flat iron w/o anything on my hair, Ive tried it w/ oils, Ive tried it with serums, to figure out what will keep it from being frizzy and get it bone straight! Heres what Ive found to work best: 1. Before you blow dry your hair, add a protective liquid serum for protection and shine and if you are dandruff prone "lightly" oil scalp. 2. After hair is blowdried, spray each small piece of hair w/ oil sheen right before you straighten it. 3. Check to make sure no pieces were missed. Go through again if necessary. Ive found this technique works best if you like light, barely oily hair. It makes your hair straight, soft and silky!! Simple, but works. Worth a try. Hope this helps you, as it did me!

  • Beginner Of Chi ( African American)
Ive just purchased my chi and decided to try it out for the first time. The mistake I made was I had biosilk pomade in my hair and it started frying my hair. Someone told me it was ok to flat iron with pomade, DONT DO IT!!!! My hair on one side is burnt. Use only thermal protection products before using the Chi.

  • Making Your Product Last
To make a CHI (or any flat iron) last longer, DO NOT wrap your cord around it store on countertop, unplugged. DO NOT drop. Plug it in and turn it on right before intended use. Unplug as soon as you are finished straightening your hair. I hope this helps make your CHI last!

  • What Not To Do!
Ive owned a CHI for 5 years. It has always been very dependable. I was doing a lot of traveling and would always wrap the cord around the base of my CHI and pack it away. Now when I plug it in it doesnt always turn on. For a while the swivel cord worked only in certain positions. Now it doesnt work in any position. I had to order a new one.

  • How To Get Silky, Pin Straight Hair.
first, i use matrix sleek look shampoo and conditioner. i towel dry my hair, then apply matrix sleek look extreme styling creme. with a round brush, i blow dry my hair until its dry. then i use 2 pumps (i have chin length hair) of paul mitchell super skinny serum and distribute it through-out my hair, concentrating on the ends. then i use the chi to flat iron 1" sections, starting at the back of my neck and working my way around and upwards. this is exactly what my stylist did, right down to the brand of products that were used, and it works AMAZINGLY. my hair was frizzy, dry, and breaking..but when i follow what she did, my hair stays silky, straight, frizz-free, with blinding shine, until i shampoo it again. hope this helps!
