DevonChi Vs. SeduI have very short, naturally curly, thick, dyed hair (chin length) and I am torn between the two straighteners. For the past two years I have been using a REMINGTON straightener (wet 2 straight 2"). I have recently been to a salon where they used a CHI on my hair. It came out absolutely beautiful; it was shiny and flowed with me. It was much better than my two-year-old wal-mart cheapie. Im not saying that the Remington straightener that I had wasnt good, because my friend had the exact one and her hair turned out perfect and never turned frizzy when it was humid. Mine, on the other hand, turned into an afro. When my hair was styled, I learned more helpful information from my stylist, and she said that I needed a ceramic straightener because they create so much less damage upon your hair and they tend to work better against frizz.I came upon this website through google, and I have been searching for hours to find some sort of way to determine my question: CHI or SEDU? I have read endless reviews, tips & advice, and Q & A pages, but none seem to answer my questions fully. Which iron would work better against blocking out frizz and humidity ?Reply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post

Sarahomg! i totally understand ur problem! i had my chi for over 6 months and loved it but i gave it my sister. long story. but i was going to get a new one for christmas and i loved my old one but before i spent $100+ on a staightener, i wanted to make sure i was getting the best. i was all hyped up about the sedu and so sure it was the best. i got it for christmas, ordered off this site. but i used and although my hair looked great in front of the mirror it was wavy and frizzy again by the time i left the house! that never happened with my chi! i was furious. thankfully i was able to send it back and exchange it for a chi. my advise, hands down go with the chi! and id say stick with the original, i havent heard great things about the others. and i know the original works. good luck!Feb 25, 2010Link to this post

SharonBroken Hair StraightenerIve had my Chi hair straightener for about 2 years and recently it goes on and then shut off and it seems like it had something to do with the cord, sometimes when I move the cord it will turn back on. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get it fixed, should I return it to the hairstylist who got it for me and see what she can do, or should I just forget and buy a new one?Reply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post

RebeccaWhat Brand Is BetterI have a chi iron and I have had to send it off twice to be repaired both times it was a cord problem. I think that if its a problem with the cord then chi should have to fix it for nothing. (Defaulty equipment might you want to call it I would think) It seems Im not the only one with this problem. What brand would be a better one?Reply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post
