ScarletEast CoastRe: How To Keep Curls BouncyHi Judi! There are a few things you can do to keep your curls bouncy and help them last longer. Since your hair is fine, you'll need a bit of product to help your hair "remember" curl patterns. Also, with medium to long length hair, curls with curling irons tend to fall more quickly (gotta love gravity!) unless you use a light amount of holding product (like hair spray).
You'll need the following items:
- A heat protection spray or oil
- A comb or paddle brush
- Bobby pins or Alligator (single-prong) clips
- A medium hold finishing spray
First, lightly apply or spray your hair with the heat protectant. Your hair shouldn't be sticky or wet.
Second, comb or brush your hair to evenly distribute the product.
After a few minutes, take a section of hair and curl with the Clipless iron. After the section is curled, pin the curl in place, with either a bobby pin or alligator clip.
Finally, when you have curled and pinned all the sections of your hair, lightly spray your hair with the finishing spray. You don't want 80s-never-move-ever hair, but natural, touchable hair.
After a few minutes, take down all the sections and use your fingers to style your hair.

This technique lets your hair cool to the curl shape and helps your hair "remember" the shape. Sounds a bit weird but with curling irons, your hair has less time to cool to the shape of the curl (and gravity loves to make things fall). This is why roller set curls last much longer than curling iron curls. You can even pin curl your hair at night. When I was in cosmetology school, I always advised my clients, especially those with fine hair, to pin curl at night to help their curls last longer. It saves time and cuts down the amount of heat used in your hair, keeping your hair healthy until your next salon visit. I pin curl my hair when I straighten it (3-4 times a year) and this saves my hair from heat damage.

AshleyHolding The CurlsTry using a stronger hairspray. I use "Rave" by suave. I have extremely thin hair that will not hold a curl to save my life and that's the only hairpsray i've found thats strong enough. You can get it at Wal-Mart or any drug store, i'm sure.Apr 7, 2012Link to this post

Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling IronAimieGood For Fine Hair?My hair does NOT hold curls. I have a lot of really fine hair, and it tends to be real flat- its naturally stick straight. I tried a babyliss clip iron (I downright loaded my hair with hairspray) and the curls were slight waves in about two hours. For my friend, the babyliss curls last for about twelve hours. Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling IronKristinaGreat Product!I just received my Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Iron in the mail and I LOVE IT! As a poor college student, I rarely ever buy expensive hair products or makeup but I decided I would get this one after reading all the good reviews and finding a good Groupon deal for it. Most other curling irons either make my hair curly but frizzy or just plain frizzy. With this curling iron, my hair stays smooth and the curls bouncy.
