Breaking Pump1) The pump seems less likely to break if you sufficiently shake the product. Spectral DNC doesnt seem to sit in the bottle entirely mixed and so you must shake it. 2) If it does break, take an empty bottle of another minoxodil product and pour it in there. Clogged Sprayer.I noticed a lot of people in the review section complaining of the sprayer clogging up. Just take the nozzle off of the bottle and rinse it out with some hot water. I havent had a problem. I clean the nozzle once/day.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

PumpTo prevent pump clogging or breakage, Ive been running the end of the spray nozzle under hot water for about 5 seconds, prior to use. This seems to dissolve gunky build up, without having to do any further maintenance. so far so good.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

Better Coverage With Eye Dropper.I really recommend using an eye dropper that has a 1 ml. mark on it. That is what the ten sprays measure out to. I use a Rogaine eye dropper that was already marked. I fill the eye dropper and tap the tip on the scalp of the areas I want covered. Spraying seems to put too much on my hair as my hair is thinning but I have growth and am not completely bald. Even those these products usually state they do not help with frontal hair lose I am experimenting by putting some on the front of my scalp as Propecia did provide some minimal hair growth in this area. I also recommend using it in conjunction with Propecia or Avodart (Dutasteride 0.5 mg), which has been found to be more effective in lowering DHT which causes hair loss. If you use Propecia I recommend a reputable foreign pharmacy where you can get it much cheaper in generic form and buy Proscar which is 5 mg. and for benign prostate problems. You simply cut the tablets if fourths and fifths and will save a lot of money. Any dermatologist will tell you that using a minoxidil formula along with a DHT inhibitor is much more effective in treating hair loss and there are clinical studies proving the combined effectiveness.Reply to this postJan 11, 2010Link to this post

Soak The Nozzle & Wet Your Scalp!To prevent clogging, just pull off the spray nozzle, submerge it in a container of water (a dish or a cup) and leave it there until your next use. I absolutely NEVER have clogging problems when I do that. Also, the instruction pamphlet recommends WETTING YOUR SCALP for much better results.
