Looking For Cool Brown Color With Red Tones
    Hi,
I was interested in buying U Color and am not sure what shade to buy. I have light cool skin, and am looking for a medium brown with subtle cool red tones. It is hard to tell from the color chart.

    Thanks!

    What Color Should I Use??
I'm unsure what color to use. I read that some people used a color that was too dark. I have dark brown hair. Someone metioned they used golden brown and the color was too dark.

    Thanks!

      Timing
Hey Cheryl, I read another review somewhere that the girl left it in for a shorter amount of time than the box recommended her second time through (only 7 minutes) and it came out perfect for her. Maybe cut 5-10 minutes or so off the box time the first time through if your current hair color is similar to what it looks like on the box. Then if you decide you want it darker/ lighter the second time adjust accordingly.

I naturally have fairly dark brown hair and I use the 6.0 dark blonde following the box directions (20-25 minutes), but I'm thinking of switching to the new mahogany shade (5.3 i think) which I will leave in for the full recommended time b/c for me darker is better :-)

There's No Way This Will Lighten Your Hair.
You'll need to use either a high lift permanent color or two step blonding using a bleach and toner. Both will need peroxide. If you're having issues with red roots, you're either not leaving the bleach in long enough or using something that isn't strong enough to lighten your hair to level you want.

The only way this would be useful in the lightening process is, perhaps, using it as a toner after bleaching.

      Demi- Color
I know demi-color is meant for slightly altering, darkening, and covering grays. I don't believe its useful for lightening. I guess it would depend on how dark your roots are. If you are naturally blonde, just the color you dye it happens to be a bit lighter, i think you'll be ok. However it is not intended to significantly lighten dark hair color. I can't say if it'll turn your roots red or not. It may just look like you haven't done anything to them.

    Robert Craig Color
Where is the ingredient list for ucolor? Have you heard of Robert Craig color? No peroxide, no ammonia PERMANENT color--and it's not henna. Beautiful natural glossy color--it is a powder you have to mix yourself--but being able to color without damaging hair is worth a little trouble
