DaynaConfusing ArticleI lost the directions contained in the box, and I can't believe theres no information availabe online on how to apply this coloring... Sure, there a hundreds of sites that say:Pour content of bottle into a bowl, mix with water... But how much water!!!! This article is at the least confusing, first it says to mix the powder of 1 Bigen powder with 5 water measures of the bigen cup (2 oz), then it says mix 1 Bigen powder with 2 water Bigen cups (1 oz.), then 1 Bigen powder with 1 Bigen cup (1 oz.)... LavonThank God!!!I tried this dye in my hair and I had a reaction to approximately 12hrs, later of applying the product. Everytime I would touch my hair or scalp it would extremely itch, to the point that I had to seek some medical attention. My scalp was covered with fluid filled bumps, my hair gradually fell out, not to the point of baldness, but it thinned out in areas. I was prescribed to used hydrocortisone in a foam, it is for the inflammation to stop the reaction of the dye. That helped with the local irritation, I also used antihistamine medication for the systemic reaction I had for the rest of the inflammation, like the swelling of the ears, brows , part of the neck. I will not recommend this product to anyone, like I said I used it and I didn't react to it several hours later, so a strand test in my case was not indicative. I thank the lord I didn't lose my hair, or a more severe reaction. I not for sure if this product is for african americans hair type because I'm not satisfied with this particular product.Reply to this postAug 28, 2010Link to this post

AlexCan't Bleach, Peroxide Or Remove Color!I used to use these dyes, and once I got the Bigen in there was no getting it out again. I tried to darken from a very dark brown to something lighter, and bleach didn't work. Color lifter barely worked, and left an ugly, brass red but barely lightened the color. Bigen eventually does fade, but bleaching/frosting after using it is a BAD idea.Nov 1, 2010Link to this post

MaryHow Do I Go Back To Natural Color After Using BigenHello,I love Bigen Hair Color. However, after months of using it to cover my grey my hair is very black, my natural color is dark brown. I think it got darker because my hair may be very porus. My question is how do I lighten my hair to its natural color without damaging it? Is there a natural remedy?
