GabiTime Between Bleaching And Coloring? How long do you have to wait between bleaching and coloring with Punky? I've heard you should wait a week...is this true??? HELP!Reply to this postMay 27, 2011Link to this post

Tess T.MDWhy Wait?I've never had any problems putting punky on my hair immediately after lightening it. As a matter of fact, my hair usually feels soft and luxurious after I wash the color out! I only wait for my hair to dry (you can air dry or blow dry. I like to skip the extra damage and let it air dry.) after rinsing and shampooing the lightener out. I've been using Punky like this for over 3 years now and I've not had any difficulties to date, except for maybe trying to lift previous colors out.Jul 14, 2011Link to this post

Regina S.Hair StylistYou can put the punky semi-permanent color on your hair right after you bleach it, you do not have to wait a week. Semi-permanent color only partially penetrates the cuticle of the hair and mainly coats the hair with the color, so it won't damage your hair to apply the color the same day. After you bleach your hair, rinse it with cool water and wash it...don't condition it...then dry your hair and then apply the color...comb through your hair with the color on it and then let it sit for 20-30 min. If you can apply a little heat to your hair with a blowdryer or hair dryer, that will help it process faster.
When you a bleaching your hair before you put the color on, apply with tint brush and never comb through the bleach or you can seriously damage your hair. Ok to comb through color though.
Hope this helps!!!! Have fun with your hair!!! :)Jul 2, 2011Link to this post -
YsmimBleach/punkyYou don't need to wait, in fact, it actually works better if you bleach, then use the color right afterward. Make sure to dry your hair first, because the colors work best on dry hair, the water can dilute them a bit. (Experienced Punky User)May 30, 2011Link to this post

TrinaLighten Ur Hair First!!Bleach Is the way to go. I used this on my brother years ago. We used every color they had in some wild styles. Falmingo pink was the first one we did. If u lighten hair first, the colors are just as bright on ur hair as n the tub. If u go with ur natural color it just tints ur hair. Bleach is the way to go if u want the exact color.Mar 26, 2011Link to this post

SkyeIt'll Show.I;ve used it and I have dark brown hair. It gives your hair a nice pink tint. It looked great, I was happy with the results. You do NOT have to bleach before using, although it does make the color more vibrant/noticeable.Dec 23, 2010Link to this post

MegHow It Works. The pink will only show on your hair if you bleach it first. To get the most vibrant colour, your hair must be bleached very light. The colour does fade slightly after a few washes, so if it is too dark, don't stress.
You must first bleach your hair and wash it out, then wait a day or so, and then when you decide to colour, the instructions on the tub say to wash your hair with shampoo, (but do not apply conditioner) and to let dry. Once dry, put on gloves, and use a highlighting brush to brush the colour on. Make sure the colour is even by gently running a comb through your hair. The tub says to leave it on for 15 - 30 mins, however, I leave mine on for much longer. Several users have advised heating the hair for a few minutes every so often to let the colour absorb better.
The colour will stain your skin, so be careful to coat your hairline in some sort of oil or cream. If you do get on you, a regular household bleach cleaner works wonders to remove it. (Put a drop on a cotton pad and wipe the colour off.) The same goes for your bath or shower- use a bleach cleaner.
Hope this helps.Nov 17, 2010Link to this post

ArangHow Is The Fade?I wanted to dye my hair (drk brown) probably with a red, blue,or purple, but how does it fade on non-bleached hair. The last time I used a semipermanent dye to streak my hair, it faded to a light brown/dark blonde. Does the Punky Hair Color fade back to the natural hair color eventually? Also, what color would look best out of the three?Reply to this postFeb 25, 2010Link to this post
