TrinaLighten Ur Hair First!!Bleach Is the way to go. I used this on my brother years ago. We used every color they had in some wild styles. Falmingo pink was the first one we did. If u lighten hair first, the colors are just as bright on ur hair as n the tub. If u go with ur natural color it just tints ur hair. Bleach is the way to go if u want the exact color.Mar 26, 2011Link to this post

SkyeIt'll Show.I;ve used it and I have dark brown hair. It gives your hair a nice pink tint. It looked great, I was happy with the results. You do NOT have to bleach before using, although it does make the color more vibrant/noticeable.Dec 23, 2010Link to this post

MegHow It Works. The pink will only show on your hair if you bleach it first. To get the most vibrant colour, your hair must be bleached very light. The colour does fade slightly after a few washes, so if it is too dark, don't stress.
You must first bleach your hair and wash it out, then wait a day or so, and then when you decide to colour, the instructions on the tub say to wash your hair with shampoo, (but do not apply conditioner) and to let dry. Once dry, put on gloves, and use a highlighting brush to brush the colour on. Make sure the colour is even by gently running a comb through your hair. The tub says to leave it on for 15 - 30 mins, however, I leave mine on for much longer. Several users have advised heating the hair for a few minutes every so often to let the colour absorb better.
The colour will stain your skin, so be careful to coat your hairline in some sort of oil or cream. If you do get on you, a regular household bleach cleaner works wonders to remove it. (Put a drop on a cotton pad and wipe the colour off.) The same goes for your bath or shower- use a bleach cleaner.
Hope this helps.Nov 17, 2010Link to this post

ArangHow Is The Fade?I wanted to dye my hair (drk brown) probably with a red, blue,or purple, but how does it fade on non-bleached hair. The last time I used a semipermanent dye to streak my hair, it faded to a light brown/dark blonde. Does the Punky Hair Color fade back to the natural hair color eventually? Also, what color would look best out of the three?Reply to this postFeb 25, 2010Link to this post

J.kFirst Time1If you want the color to show well, you should probably try to bleach it first.Feb 25, 2010Link to this post

DanielleHow To Bleach Black Hair?I have pondered dying parts of my hair blue for quite a while now, and I finally think that this summer I will pick up the courage to do so. :D Im going with the punky blue black and hoping for a striking, bold, bright, but dark-ish blue. This is definitely my first time dying my hair, partly because I basically have jet-black hair and I do a lot to it, namely chlorine from the pool 6 days a week, and am not looking for a brittle, dry look no matter how much I will enjoy the color. It being my first time, I dont mind it fading or being faint or whatever, but I realize that I will need to bleach if I want it to show up AT ALL (right?) I need advice bleaching beforehand...what to use (would the punky bleaching kit work?) and how to avoid that gross bleached-red/pink...HELP!should I go for it?Reply to this postJan 19, 2010Link to this post
