You shouldn't rebleach the already bleached sections of hair unless you are planning on radically changing your hair to a colour to blue for example. In your case I would say you will only need to bleach your root growth. I have blue hair so the maintenance is difficult but it is worth it. Hope this helped!

      Pre-lightening
the hair that has already been pre-lightened (bleached) should not be bleached again. the initial bleaching is enough to remove the dark pigment of natural hair and makes the hair porous enough to hold the artifical color. if you re-bleach it, you risk damaging your hair. id suggest waiting for the old color to fade out or washing the hair with a clarifying shampoo before switching to a different color to remove as much of the previous color as possible. good luck!

Will The Colour Was Out Quick Enough? Is Punky Colour Right For Me?
My hair color currently is between red and golden blond its light enough that i dont have to bleach it for most Hair color products. for the summer before i go back to school in September i wanted to do steaks of purple and blue. IT HAS TO COME OUT BEFORE SEPTEMBER!! i go to catholic school and with a uniform we can not have hair that isn't a natural color plus my parents don't want me to have random colours in my hair for my Grad photos. Will the colour was out completely by September if i dye it around June 20th? if not what other kind of semi perm colour do you recommend other than manic panic?

      How Long It Will Last
Hi there! I've been using Jerome Russell Midnight Blue over bleached hair (natural color: medium brown) for about a year now. Here's what I think about your project:

      - First of all, I think dyeing your hair is a great idea, it's a lot of fun!
      - However, blue might not be the best idea for something you only want to last for one summer. It's the kind of color that demands some maintenance to STAY blue, because it washes out fairly fast (and unevenly depending on how exposed your hair is) and turns to a teal green quite quickly, especially over blonde/reddish hair. What's more, the green tinges tend to stay there, and they don't look very nice. I've got this one strand of random hair which has been bleached for the best part of a year and not dyed back because I can never find it when I do my dye, it's still got a greenish tinge to it. To get rid of it, you need to bleach your hair again or dye over it.
The blue might look nice with the purple, but sea green probably won't...
      - Purple, on the other hand, usually washes out to a light pink. By August, your hair will still probably have that pink tinge to it, but it won't be as noticeable: it'll blend in with your natural hair color more. Make sure to choose some kind of pinkish/reddish purple rather than indigo or lavender, though.
      - Finally, using conditioner and cold water locks the pigments in, while washing your hair with shampoo in hot water washes the pigments out. At first, you'll probably want the pigments to be locked in so that the color looks nice and vibrant, but once you want it to wash out, it's a good idea to wash your hair often (every day or two days) with hot water and little or no conditioner. Don't leave the dye to sit in more than the instructions say when you first put it in, either.

I hope this helps you rock the colored hair this summer! Have fun!

Re: Will The Colour Was Out Quick Enough? Is Punky Colour Right For Me?
I use Punky Apple green, Spring Green and Alpine Green, the spring green fades out to a yellow, and stays light green at the root, and that's after a couple months, I haven't let it go for more then 2 months before coloring again, but I don't think punky is for you. Though I could be very wrong, that is just my experience. Oh and the alpine and apple greens fade out to a light blue at the tips and stay a green at the roots, just throwing that in there.

You might be able to go to a salon and ask someone that colors hair. They might be able to help you.

      Good luck :)

    Punky Dye's: Red
So, I have dyed auburn hair, but my roots are coming in a very dark brown. I would like to know what people think of Punky Colors Poppy Red, Flame, or any other vibrant red they have. I want a color that is a vibrant red. Have you ever seen Victorious? The girl with the bright red hair is the kind I am aiming for. I would love to hear your opinions. Thank you!

      Poppy Red Or Vermillion Red
Hi! The Flame color is actually much more of an orange. Poppy Red or Vermillion Red are probably the two closest to the girl on Victorious. Poppy Red has cooler undertones and Vermillion is a bit warmer.

    Original Color ?
HI! I have dark brown hair, but I would like to dye it red. Do you know if after the 3-6 weeks my hair will return to its natural color or will it just look reddish?

      With Or Without Bleach?
If you use this product in one of the shades of red on dark brown hair, it will just have kind of an auburn tint that should last at least 6 weeks. After that it will slowly fade to less red and more brown. This color doesn't have any lighteners so it won't change your natural color. However, if you bleach your hair first, it will be a much more vibrant red and it will fade to kind of a pinkish color over time.

      Bleach!
If you are wanting the exact color out of the jar (give or take a shade) you are going to want to bleach it first. If you just use it over your natural color, it will more than likely only tint your hair, and it will end up a red-brown.

As for your second question, I have no idea, I bleached mine, and then used blue lagoon and turquoise, even after dying it back to black TWICE the color was still in my hair. In some areas it is still a blue-ish black. For some it seems to last a ridiculous amount of time, others it washes out in a couple of weeks.
