SharonFrequency Of Use For Best Results??I would like to know how often I should use this product - daily, weekly??? There are no instructions on the label regarding frequency of use, I would have expected more detailed information on such an expensive product. Does anyone know what the manufacturer recommends?Reply to this post
Also, is it ok to follow with a thermal protector before blow drying? Again, no recommendations or tips were provided with this product.Nov 29, 2010Link to this post-

Maria A.Incomplete InstructionsYour instructions are very limited it does not say how often you can use it, how long you should leave it on, how long does it last, or how soon you can shampoo your hair. Complete instructions should come with such and expensive product and also from such a company.Apr 25, 2011Link to this post

Julie A.Fairfax, VAFrequency Of Keratin Protein TreatmentThe "common wisdom" in re: the frequency of use for Keratin Protein treatment is an interval between 4-6 months. There are several factors which will dictate how often you will need to repeat the process. Examples include: (1) whether you use a sulfate-free shampoo regularly post-treatment; (2) the overall condition of your hair…the Keratin breaks down over time, and your hair will become less and less resilient as time goes by; (3) how often you would like to infuse your hair with Keratin protein…to my knowledge, there is no risk in treating hair as often as every three months. Those are just a few examples. It is also important to consider the length of your hair, as well as your budget; many professional hairdressers charge up to $350.00 per treatment. I have decided to do this on my own (if you have a few hours to spare, and a high quality straightening iron with the skills to use it properly, you can potentially save hundreds of dollars - especially if you plan to re-treat 4x per year). It is also very important to use sulfate-free shampoo and have a good quality deep conditioner. Don't be led to believe that the "Keratin" brand is all you can use, though. A less expensive alternative, which works just as well, is "TIGI…Living the Dream (sulfate-free) Shampoo)." There are many others, as well…read labels carefully…Sodium Laurel Sulfate is the main culprit when it comes to stripping out the Keratin protein, and it usually found near the top of the "ingredients" list on shampoo bottles; brands that are sulfate-free will generally say so on the front of the package. I DO NOT recommend the "Brazilian" treatment…it contains formaldehyde…the same thing morticians use to embalm bodies prior to burial! Yuck! Good luck in your pursuit of beautiful hair!Aug 14, 2011Link to this post

Karie C.TexasBest Shampoos For All Keratin Treatments. You need to buy a sulfate free shampoo. They are popping up everywhere. The one I like best is wen by Chaz Dean. It has changed my hair and the hair of my kids too. It seems to make it heavier and not fly-away. But I think all lines cary sulfate free shampoo. Just search it on here.Oct 29, 2011Link to this post

Tal Z.United StatesNo -hyde Ingredients (i Think)Hi - I just had the same question, and finally found the ingredient section: Aqua Distilla, Keratin Protein Complex Extract, Guar Gum, Cyclodimethicone, Dimethicone, arnica (arnica Montana), Coloring, Scent.
It has no "-hyde" ingredients, so I presume it's ok, but maybe it would be better if Folica confirmed this.Nov 7, 2010Link to this post
