    Karatin Relaxer
I am an Africa American female with course kinky damage hair that is very difficult to come throughout. Would be better to get the relaxer and how long does it last? are the instructions easy to do it myself. I would like my hair to have soft manageable curls what are some of the products that I would need to purchase?

      Keratin And African-amercian Hair Types
I am african-american with 3b7-3c hair type and in June I used the royal keratin treatment and Im also blond. Before I applied the treatment, I had virgin natural hair for 2years with no relaxing. When my stylist applied the product, it did not have a distinct smell or aroma to it. Then she blow dried my hair while straightening it at the same time( this is a no no! there is no need to straignten while blow drying hair this will only cause more split ends) After which she flat ironed using a marcel iron and oven( which is also too hot! The recommendation is 450 degrees. While she flat ironed it, the fumes cause eye irritation and my nose to burn and my sylist because it contains .02% formaldehyde. When she finished I did notice that my hair was very straight and sticky and my ends were fried and split so she cut them. I washed it out after 48 hours and I loved it, it made my hair straight, babysoft and shiny(blondness was not affected) and eventually my ends repaired. I will definitely use a keratin treatment again, as I have heard that it looks and feels much better the more you do the treatment. It is now September and I am getting ready to re-treat my hair. 4 months is a long time especially when you live in Houston,Tx and with normal summertime humidity is 100% and we just suffered through the hottest summer on record 50 days consectutive days of 100 degree heat. All things considered, BKT is the way to go.......
