Hair Breakage As Hair Grows Out
I'm an African American woman growing out her short tresses for the past three years. I go to the salon for regular coloring and trimmings but my hairdresser has advised me that my hair needs to be cut short again because of its continuous breakage in the middle of my head. Not to mention I have a really fragile hair line. The problem is that we do not know why its breaking. For three years we have gone back and forth on what it could be. Ie-my hairdresser believes the biggest culprit is my sun hat. My occupation is one that requires me to work outside and with my skin being so extremely sensitive, its a must have to keep from suffering. I regularly treat my hair at home with warm olive oil, deep conditioners, special oils, great sulfur free shampoos and conditioners. I wear a silk scarf beneath my hat so as not to cause friction, and I maintain a healthy diet with a lot of water intake. Also I've been to the doctor to check for thyroid problems, taken blood test and have been administered special vitamins for hair health. I'm even taking a hormone pill called spiroldactone which is suppose to assist in the growth process of the hair.
So I'm confused,,, What am I doing wrong and can this product help me with my breakage! I'm always so nervous and intimidated by my hair dresser because she insist that short hair is my thing. Basically she's one step away from telling me she will not do my hair anymore if I don't let her cut it off. I love short hair, but I also like the versatility long hair can bring.
If anyone see's this and can relate please respond. I would so much like to hear from you! And please by all means let me know if the Keratin product does what is suppose to.
Thank You,
Angela
