I am multi-racial (White, African and Greek)and my hair is naturally curly/coarse. I used this product to "loosen" the curls in my hair so it would be less coarse. When I used it-it ended up taking too much curl out so now my hair is practically straight and I want my curls back! Can I use a thio "curly perm" on top of this product to put curls back into my hair? Would it work? You Will Want To Avoid Putting Too Many Chemical Services On Your Hair.
This Can Cause A Lot Of Damage. Your Hair May "Revert" Back To Curly On It's Own. You Can Help This Along With Deep Conditioning Treatments And "WET SETTING" Your Hair With Perm Rods And Allowing Your Hair To Dry On Them.
If These Treatments Don't Work - PLEASE, Get Professional Help. Perming ANY Chemically Treated Hair Is Risky. BUT, Perming Relaxed Hair CAN Result In SEVERE HAIR DAMAGE - Including MELTED Hair And Scalp Burns Which May Require Medical Treatment. | Um... ?
This is really not much of a question, so I couldn't think of a summary for it... I just wanted to know how long the result of this product lasts... I looked for that in the reviews, but I got bored of looking after the first page... not very patient... ^_^ *giggle* Question posted by Angel Wed Apr 26 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by angel

Its just like hair color, in my opinion..it just grows out and your roots are curly again. Most of the time i only did my root touch up because putting the product over the same hair i had already straightened kind of made my hair break off in the long run. You will know when you need to touch up cuz your ends will be nice and straight and your roots will be the curly/wavy/frizzy part. | | Reply by chibi-shini

It says on the directions that it's supposed to last for at least (or at least the need to retouch) three months. :3 I'm excited to use it! x3 | How often can I use it?
I just used ONE last week and I wanna use it again this week, 'cause I didn't get the results I expected.Does anyone think it's too early? Can it risk the health of my hair?I used the noraml formula. Question posted by Priscilla Tue Feb 21 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Carol

I would recommend a strand test. Iv had the same problem with a hair relaxer. I did a strand test and havent had any problems. It all depends on your hair type. | | Reply by Rebecca

The recommendation for reuse is about 3 months. Mine isn't as straight as I would like it to be, so I'm just going to wait a few months before I do it again. In the mean time I'll be straightening with a flat iron after a few days from the first treatment. | Before you use this
Should your hair be completely free of styling products before you use this product on your hair? Also should your hair be freshly washed or should you wait a day before you use this on your hair? Question posted by Jen Wed Feb 08 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Becca

The directions say to apply to clean, damp hair. I just washed mine, then used it. | Is this good for black hair
I'm a 13 year old African-American/Indian who has very wavy slightly curly thick hair I wear my hair natrual sometimes and I just wanted to try something new I usually get my hair pressed for 35 dallors but I wanted natrual straight hair so I wanted to get a perm but my mom said no so I heard this was gentle on hair and doesn't cause breakage so does this straighten black hair thats my question because if it does I'm for sure that I'm going to get it and I do not have bi-racial hair my hair is very black textured because my hair is very tangled or as black people say it (nappy) and I need a straightner Question posted by Brianna Wed Feb 08 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Katie

i have a black friend your age and i don't suggest you use it by itself if your hair is a traditional kinky sort of hair. i suggest you use this which IS really gental and use a flat iron. something of good quality like the sedu. i know the onenonly curl remover is safe becasue i used it on my white thin curls. since your hair is probably thiker you sould use the resistant formula. also, don't over do it with the flatiron. only use it once in a while because the combitation of too much heat and chemicals may cause your hair too break or fall out. | Which to Use?
I have colored hair (I havent colored in over a year however) and I have hair that has been previously relaxed, which product should I use? My hair is not in the greatest condition and I am working on that (I have dry hair and I am sure it has been damaged from previous chemical treatments) but I hope to soon solve that. Which product does anyone think is best for me? The tinted formula? Thanks Question posted by ViVi Fri Feb 03 2006 Submit your answer | Reply by Priscilla

I bought the resistant formula, did the test and went back to the store and got the normal one. I don't think the tinted will do much on my hair... You should consider how straight you want your hair and maybe try the normal formula.
We are in the same situation (I also colored my hair and put some chemical over a year ago).
Good luck!

I waited three days after and it turned out beautifully. Make sure to deep condition with your first wash and it will make your hair even more manageable (I use neutrogena deep moisture conditioner) | Does your hair have to be unwashed and no other products in it?
I bought this and wanted to get a jump start over the weekend, but I am not sure of the directions. Does your hair have to be unwashed for 2 days? Can you use hair spray in it? Question posted by Dana Thu Nov 17 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by kristine

I deep conditioned my hair two days before using it and skipped the second day wash. As far as specific directions about unwashed hair for two days...I didn't read that anywhere, although it might be a good idea. I don't understand what you mean by hair spray in it? If your asking if you can still use hairspray....I would say yes. I mean I still am.
hope this helps | does it last long
i'm thinking about purchacing this product and i would like to know how long it lasts. Question posted by Keira Tue Nov 15 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by kristine

Mine has lasted over six months...I think it just depends on your hair type...as far as it being naturally super curly to begin with. Like I said mine has lasted over six months and I do a touch up every six months to keep my regrowth under control.
I can't stress this enough, but don't forget to deep condition both before and after. Also, don't wash your hair for 72 hours...3 days.
hope this helps | which type do I need, normal or tinted
I would like to try your product, but not sure which type to order. I have thick, shoulder length, curly hair that has a semi colour in it and several honey coloured foils through the top. Earlier this year, due to a bad hair experience with a chemical straightening solution (2 weeks after having my hair coloured) it has become extremely dry and frizzy and looks like straw. I would like to know if this product would be helpful or suitable for my hair and if it would cause any more damage.Thanks. From reading your post you should definitely use the "tinted" just because you want to be super cautious about damaging your hair any further! I know I'm going to sound like a broken record but especially in your case make sure to deep condition (I use neutrogena deep condition mask or something like that)two days before you apply this stuff and also do not wash your hair for three days afterwards. And when you do, deep condition again! I promise you if you do this your hair will thank you for it. Also, make sure to deep condition at least once a week afterwards.....once you chemically straighten your hair it becomes very, very fragile and you've got to take extra care or else...
PS - you also may want to try neutrogena's hair serum...I love that stuff too.
good luck and let me know how it goes |
