loosening but not eliminating perm??
I got my hair permed, but I am not happy with it. The waves are much tighter than I had hoped for. I was wondering if I used this product if it would loosen the waves or just eliminate them entirely (because my hair is naturally straight).

One 'N Only Thermal Ionic Hair Straightening System
I did this treatment, but i was scared to leave it for more than 5 minutes...it says to leave it from 7 to 30 min, depending on someones hair...i only left it for 5...is it a problem if I try and do it again after two weeks? will it damage my hair? and also, is it ok that when i wash it off my hair, the water goes on the rest of my body...is that safe?thank you

It's fine to leave it on for the specified length of time in the instructions. I used it, left it on for 30 minutes and it came out great. I would wait a little longer than two weeks to re-apply though as to not damage your hair.

how long
How long does this last? Do you have to grow it out or will it wash out eventually?

washing after treatment
I see you are not supposed to wash your hair for 3 days after treatment. Does anyone know if it would be OK to wet my hair, and use a conditioner, then blow dry? Thanks.

you cant wet your hair for 3 days, if u really have to shower use a shower cap there only like 0.50 cents. try to avoid very humid places because then you start to develop frizz, and try not to sweat or do things that might get your bangs wet or damp.

What would happen if you did not neutralize?
The first time I tried this product it did not work at all. I waited a couple of months and used it again yesterday. It seems like the place that things go wrong is when I put the neutralizer on my hair. I spend an hour flat ironing it until its pin straight, then I put on the neutralizer for 5 min and I can see the curls/waves reforming once its wet with the neutralizer. I rinse out the neutralizer and I can see when its still wet that its wavy. I went ahead and blow dried and re-straightened and will wait the 48 hours, but I have no hope it will work. What would happen if I skipped the neutralizing step? The step 1 creme was completely rinsed out anyway before flat ironing. I just want straight hair and it upsets me that I'm wasting so much time and money and its not working.

WHAT? Did you read the instructions before using this? You should never have flat-ironed or done anything to your hair before applying the neutraliser!! The Step 1 creme breaks the H-bonds and rearranges some hair proteins. That's why it's important to keep your hair combed straight during that process - to give your hair the straight trend/pattern. You ABSOLUTELY NEED to put the neutraliser (Step 2) onto your hair as soon as you finish rinsing all this corrosive alkali from Step 1 to "freeze" the re-structuring process (important to keep hair combed straight during Step 2 for the same reason). Skipping Step 2 will not only damage your hair (harsh chemicals from Step 1 won't be neutralised) but your hair will return to curly again because you didn't stop the re-structuring correctly - the hair will re-structure back to its normal curly pattern because nature and curls always win over straightness. Don't strain/pull/curl or wash your hair for 3 days after the treatment to give your hair time to set into this new structure! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!

Hair that kills
I have impossibly thick, super-resistant, curly hair that turns afro the second I step out of the house. At school it gets even worse. I colored it two or three months earlier, and recently had it cut, but have done nothing else to it since then. I'm not interested in straight-as-straw hair but I would like to loosen my curl into waves, and a little more manageability would be wonderful. Will this product do much? Or am I wasting $7?

i have african american, very thick and curly hair. i wanted to loosen the tight curls like you were saying. it worked out how i wanted when it was wet, but when i blow-dried my hair, it turned thick and puffy, but the curls were loosened. idk if this is helping you, it's a little easier to manage, but it's still thick. i guess i thought my hair would turn out to be like those pretty latino girls' hair w/ the nice curls. IDk if you still want to try it, i noe for one that the curl remover smells soo bad!! idk if it was worth it for me and idk if i'll get it again.

When can I use a hot iron?
I just used ONO Curl Remover for Resistant hair today. I am very pleased with the results! I had a bad perm (very curly) and now very loose waves *hurray*. I have only applied a leave-in conditioner, and nothing else. I let my hair air dry and I know to wait 3 days before shampooing it again. But should I also wait 3 days before trying my ceramic iron on it? I don't want to ruin the new wavey do' or damage my hair by applying heat to it too soon. Anyone have suggestions, or personal experiences that can answer this? I'm just excited to try out an even smoother style now, but I can wait 3 days before excessive styling (with an iron, I do not blowdry my hair - ever)

How long does it last?
I was reading the reviews for this product, but i can't understand how long it lasts. Does it only work for the day you do it or is it semi-permanent? Thanks for your help!

Is this safe for permed & pemanent colored hair?
I permed and colored my hair three months ago at a salon. I no longer want the permed hair look and would like to use this product. Is it safe to use? (I have naturally dark brown hair and permanently colored it a dark amber - maybe a shade or two lighter than my natural color.) If so, which of the three types do I use? Help! Thanks!

oily hair..
So I'm interested in buying/trying ONO, but what I'm worried about is not washing my hair for three days after. My hair gets super oily after just one night. Can you still rinse it and blow dry it (gently) to reduce the look of oil as long as you're not using shampoo?

Quite honestly, your hair will crave that oil after the ONO treatment. It tends to leave your hair a little dry. Brush it to distribute the oils all along the hair shaft, it will keep your hair shiny and nourished. You should avoid at all costs getting it into contact with moisture or water for those 3 days because ONO re-structures your hair's chemical pattern so it needs time to set in permanently (or to "heal" if you prefer), if not your hair will go back curly again. Same reason why you shouldn't pull or strain it (to avoid damage) or tie it up (it will leave a kink or mark) for those 3 days. If you get really desperate, massage in baby talc onto your scalp to absorb the grease until you can wash your hair. Hope this helps!! :)
