One 'n Only Colorfix saved my hair....and my life! I had gone to a salon, paid lots of $$ for a brown color. It came out almost black! The girl left it on the shaft/ends way too long. I used Colorfix, got it up to an orange/gold color....which was perfect for then tinting it a medium ash blonde. Best of all....my hair was in GREAT condition after I used this product! I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to remove color. HOWEVER...I did NOT use step 3 processing lotion, based on other reviews. Also, do not expect your hair to turn light blonde after using this, because that is impossible. But if done correctly, and left on long enough, you should be pleased. You may have to use 2 applications, but not a problem.

I bleached my hair and got sick of the blonde so I dyed it purple. The purple started fading into gray and pink and I didn't know what to do so I ordered colorfix. I used it once and my hair was bluish and greenish. After I did it again, it was back to blonde. =)
I feel like me again...

I have natural red hair and decided to brighten it up just a bit...well the colorist did something and it turned out to be a bright pinkish burgundy color. I tried washing it repeatedly which did pull it out a bit, then saw this site. I went right out to Sally's and bought the stuff. I did the test strand and it brought back my color. So with the help of my stepdaughter we loaded in a full box on my thick med length hair. I made a mistake though in not testing during the 20 minutes and when I took it off I had very light strawberry blonde hair. It looks like I lighted my natural color which is just fine! This product is amazing! I would recommend it highly, but make sure to keep testing during the 20 minutes as the directions say. I almost used the 3rd step to see if it would darken up a bit but since so many people said not to I decided to just leave it as is. To anyone finding theirselves in my position, definately try this product. I think maybe the salon doesn't tell us about this so they can charge a couple hundred to fix your color. It cost me only 12.99 to be able to look in the mirror and feel like myself again!

Wanted to get the purple out of my hair so i could return to a dark reddish brown. Use part 1 and 2, skipped part 3. Only left it on 20 mins but used a hair dryer to accelarate the process. Took colour out of my hair leaving it a ginger/orange shade. Only left it on 20 mins but used a hair dryer to accelorate the process. Used the new colour I had bought and my hair looks great, good condition and shiny. My only tip would be to buy a really good conditioner and use it every time you wash for the first 2 weeks. I was worried about the smell but its not as bad a perm solution. Will definately use this product again, although not avavilable in the UK but got mine through amazon.

I've colored my hair for over 30 years. My natural color was mousy brown now mostly salt and pepper. This time I tried to go red and selected a reddish brown that turned out too red and too dark. I was mortified to go out, but looked up color removers and found this web site and product. I also spent a long time reading and looking for similar situations as mine. I opted to remove the color with #1 and #2, took it to goldish blonde after 20 minutes, fairly light, not unexpected based on other color removers I've used. I didn't use the #3, but conditioned with Clairol Metalex (a great deep oil conditioner - used it once a month for years). I then recolored with half dark blonde and half light reddish brown. Yikes! It was once again much too dark and not red at all.
So 3 days later I used the gentle method of 1/4 oz. each of #1 and #2 with 1 oz. of shampoo. Applied on damp hair, worked into a good lather. Only left it on less than 10 minutes, using my hands to keep lathering most of that time, hopped in the shower, and washed with Denorex shampoo (another product I swear by, to lessen scalp itching by using for 2 or 3 days after coloring)
My hair is now a nice light brown with gold highlights. I will not recolor, nor did I use the #3.
My decision now will be what color to use the next time my roots show!!!? But it is a great product, and hasn't harmed my hair, but saved the day!
This is an AMAZING Product

I had a horrible hair disaster. My normally dark brown hair went patent leather black. NOTHING would fix it. I searched the internet and LUCKILY found this product. You can either strip ALL of the color out of your hair using all three bottles (have the color you want to change nearby because your color it is stripped to will be orange) or just bring it back to your natural color. I LOVE this stuff! It's safe and not harsh on your hair. My hair was SO healthy & soft when I finished. I am SO, SO happy with this product. I bought 4 packages so I could experiment with other colors. You will be very pleased, I promise.
ADVICE ON HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT

This product will remove DARK colour from your hair, it will NOT reverse bleaching or highlighting. If you have very dark or red dye in your hair you might meed to try it twice to get all the colour out... Don't use it to lighten your hair to an orange colour like a bleach, use it to GET RID of the colour completely (as I said, even if this takes a few goes)...
My hair is mousy/dark blonde, and I have used this product after dying it red, and brown. It removed all the colour, and left me with a very slightly warmer tone of dark blonde. It is very good...
I have also used it after bleaching my hair with a blonde dye that was too warm and went brassy. As I said, it doesn't reverse bleaching, but it did remove the toner/colour that was also in my hair, so that I ws left with a light, highlighted blonde, to either keep, or put a more nuetral toner onto.
If I had used a bleach to get rid of the colour in either of these cases I would have had orange hair! Also, if I had covered all the previous colour with ANOTHER colour, it wouldn't have completely covered the previous colour and would have left my hair heavy and laden with dye (you know - when it goes thick and stiff because of all the colour and bleach)...
Instead my hair was shiny, soft, and flexible again, and I could colour it with a near ientical colour to my own and continue to grow my hair without having to cut off the botched dye, or having a line of colour half way down.
It's great!
It worked really well!

My daughter dyed her hair jet black. I was afraid to play around with otc products due to her hair being "fried" from staightening irons. We both thought all her hair might fall out!! After reading many of the reviews posted I held my breath and gave it a try. Well, I't really worked and it did not add damage to her hair at all. Time is a major factor though when applying this product--so be quick!! And it does smell a bit--but is so worth it!!! Thank you so much for everyones reviews!!!!1

I had a very bad idea to color my blonde hair in lightbrown. After one hour at a hair salon my hair was black with red. A very terrible color...
I was shocked and desperate. I couldn't sleep this night. Every woman knows: if you hate your haircolor, you feel bad and ugly...
One week later I found this produkt. I spend 2 weeks reading all the reviews before I tried it. I bought two boxes (I have very long hair), but I only used 1. After 45 min. my hair was golden! It is not blond, but it is a beautiful goldbrown. I love this color! This is really a great product! And the smell isn't too bad.
The best thing about this product is: after using colorfix my hair was shiny and soft.

After Bleaching my Brown hair to Blond for three years I decided to go BLACK! Very Bad decision. I first went to about a ton of salons and everyone said "there is nothing you can do but bleach it." After some research I found colorfix, used it and.. the first day it went back to my blond color.. then in a day it went to strawberry blond and after two-three days of oxidizing my hair was SERIOUSLY my Natural Color. I KID YOU NOT! It stunk for a day, but it was shiny and new.. just like I never died it before. I took it to my hair salon and they now use it on people in my same situation. I RECOMMEND TO ALL! It's no joke.

My hair has been dyed dark brown/black for at least 10 years using mainly level 3/permanent colors. I have color stripped it before, but the products were always harsh. Colorfix did the job without the harshness to my hair. My hair is very dry now, especially at the ends, but a deep conditioner will fix it. Colorfix took me back to my natural shade - light auburn. I have extremely thick, long, curly hair and 1 box was more than sufficient; I used the Colorfix 3 times in a row - the box indicated that was ok, and I skipped the lotion based on the reviews here. The product does smell bad - like rotten eggs - but it doesn’t linger as much as some people have suggested. Just make sure you’re in a very well-ventilated room and wash your clothes/towels right away. I’m very happy with the product and especially that it contains enough for very long hair without having to purchase a 2nd box.

I had 3 colors on my hair, including highlights, and the colorfix took the top color off, which is brown, and gave me back my highlights, but only now they are very blonde. It did not remove any of the other color, and I am wanting my haircolor back which is dark auburn. I bought the new color but now am afraid to use it because it might wash out back to blonde
This stuff works like a charm!

I am an African-American woman with coarse natural curly hair that I had dyed black with Bigen Black Brown. I one used one pkg of Colorfix (omitting step #3) and added a tsp shampoo. I sat under the dryer for 8-10 mins, checking the color every 2-3 mins. When it reached a med-dark auburn, I shampooed and deep conditioned with Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose with 2 tsps olive oil added. My hair is soft and shiny and looks gorgeous. There's no need to proceed to color again, at least not at this point.

I have used this product many times as I frequently experiment with hair color, and often do not like the results. One n Only colorfix has been a lifesaver on quite a few occasions and it is remarkably gentle to my hair considering all that I've put it through. I was prompted to write a review because I now live in Australia and could not find this product here. In a panic I began to search the internet and let me tell you it wasnt easy to find. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who has a hair coloring disaster!

I have med/dark brown hair and dyed it black. I used a semipermanent (wash out in 28 shampoos) over the counter product. It looked terrible and i wanted it out. I left the colorfix in for twenty minutes (and never used the processing lotion after reading other reviews). 20 min was plenty and my hair was restored to very close to my natural brown color (with a slight reddish brown undertone). I dont even need to re-dye it. It looks awesome now! I am soo soo soo happy. Make sure to periodically strand test so that you dont over lighten your hair if you dont want to have to dye it again. I would completely reccomend this product. It worked great and the smell that people mention is exactly the same smell as that nair product. Its not that bad and is pretty much gone when you hair dries/one wash.

I am so happy I tried ColorFix. I was a little nervous to remove color, for fear of drying my hair out even more, but after reading all the positive comments, I decided to try it. I'm so happy I did!
It was actually a semi-permanent hair color that messed my hair up, Loreal Color Spa. It was supposed to be medium brown but left my hair a horrid, flat black. (I started out with a medium brassy brown... was trying just to rid the brassiness). We all know these darker brown and blacks tend to stick around for much longer than 28 days!
Colorfix is supposed to work best on permant hair color, but it worked really well for me on the semi-permanent. I just wanted to fade my color, not a full color correct.
I strand tested to see how long I should keep it on. I mixed equal parts of the number 1 and 2 bottles and kept it on my hair for 40 minutes. I skipped the processing lotion, like most of the others. That left me with a nice shiney medium brown color! Just what I wanted. The smell is not the best, but who cares! It's worth it!
I deep conditioned with Aussie 3 Minute Miracle for 45 minutes, after I washed the shampoo out. Put a plastic cap on and run your hair dryer to give yourself a salon quality deep conditioning! Anyway, don't be afraid to try Colorfix!
Highlighted Hair

I recently went to a new salon to have my hair highlighted. My hair has been highlighted for many, many years. The young man who highlighted my hair put a "toner" on after highlighting it. I left the salon with green/gray highlights in my hair instead of the usual blonde highlights. Of course, I freaked out, but because it was 7:00 PM I could not get the problem fixed by anyone else that evening. I went to work the next day, wanting to wear a bag over my head, called the salon and informed them that it was the worst highlighting job I had ever had. Of course, they wanted me to be happy so once again, I returned to the salon. This time they decided they needed to make it look warmer, so apparently used a "toner" with redhighlights. After arriving home again, disgruntled and refusing to let them do anything else, I wore my hair with partial red highlights on top with the back still looking green/greyish in color. I then researched Colorfix and decided to try it. I used the 1/4 oz. #1, 1/4 oz. #2 and 1 oz. of shampoo. I left it on for a little over 45 minutes, peridically doing checks. It turned out wonderful. It still has just a hint of the greenish tint (that only I notice) and will put on one more application next week. THe smell is not bad...perhaps using it with the shampoo helped. I also conditioned it very good and it looks great. Before highlighting my hair, it was very blonde with more gray than anything at the roots. Colorfix has left it a nice light brown with great highlights. THANKS SO MUCH

Well my orginal haircolor is like a dark brown and for years I've been dyeing my hair a lighter brown but last month I decided to dye my hair black because I wanted something darker and I will never do that again because it was so black it made me look so pale. Well then I tryed dyeing it a light brown and it didnt do anything, the black was still there.
I was searching on the internet for a product to take out the black or fix the color and I came upon this product :one n' only ColorFix. After reading all the reviews I went to sally's beauty supply and picked up a box. (IF YOU DIDNT KNOW THERE IS A COUPON ON THEIR WEBSITE (SALLYS) TO GET $4.00 OFF COLORFIX, NOW THRU OCT.31). So, with the coupon I got one box because my hair is short.
I mixed half of part 1 and half of part 2. Left it on for only 20 minutes and right away the black was already disappearing. I washed it out and shampooed. My hair was left with a light orange/reddish brown which I didnt really like and I didn't really feel like dyeing it something else the next day. So even though a lot of the reviews says to not use the processing lotion (part 3) I did. I used the whole bottle on my hair and I actually let it set in for about 10 mins. Washed it out and my hair was a dark brown with little highlights. The processing lotion didn't turn it black like most people said. But if you dont want a dark hair color skip the processing lotion.
All in all it was a great. My hair is no longer back and now more or less back to my orginal hair color a little light though. Thanks! Great product!!!
Colorfix - From Nightmare to Natural

I had naturally dark auburn hair once upon a time in my life. After years of trying to cover the slight hints of grey starting to appear, I went from henna to temp color and finally to perm color. Then this past summer I decided to try going blonde using highlights only. Well, it worked great. I loved it, but by September thought I'd like to go back to my auburn for the fall. I called the a hair color hotline and they recommended a tint-back. Wrong! I ended up with dull ginger colored hair. So, I did a color fix without the processing lotion phase as everyone recommends not using the lotion and conditioned, conditioned, conditioned. After drying it, I noticed there were still a lot of ginger tones on the back. So, I repeated the process and WHOA! I'm back to blonde highlights over my natural dark auburn hair underneath. But the blonde lights have taken on the most beautiful golden tone that now I want to keep them. I did have strawlike hair after the second colorfix, so I did a deep condition treatment then after drying for the third time added my usual styling creme. It looks so luxurious with golden and copper tones and now I'm rethinking going back to my natural auburn. Not yet sure how to get back to the natural auburn aside from getting it cut down to a pixie cut. But, now that I know that colorfix can fix it, I'm free to experiment.

ok so after changing my color a million and one times over the years and ending up with dark brown/black hair i decided to go back to my natural color - dark ash blond if i remember correctly. i used the whole box on my shoulder length hair and left it on for 45 minutes under a hair dryer. i washed my hair for like 10 minutes with dove clean rinse shampoo and ended up with dirty strawberry blond hair and light red roots. i put on the processing lotion and my hair turned ugly nasty reddish color. so i repeated the whole process again with another box of colorfix. this time i skipped the processing lotion. my hair color was light strawberry blond with red roots. so i figured my hair was ready for the color. i put on ion medium ash blond and left it on for 30 minutes. 5 minutes into it i could see that my hair was turning dark (a lot darker!) but i didnt want to wash off the color because my roots were still really red looking, i was hoping the ash in the ash blond color would start working. after i was done i ended up with unnatural medium brown hair with a red hue to it. which may look good on some people but it makes me look 20 years older. i think that colorfix worked on my hair because it did remove most of the black and dark brown color i think my problem is that there was still some more color left (i should have used the processing lotion the second time) thats why the blond color did not grab.. my advice is that you should make sure all the color is out by using the processing lotion before you decide to dye your hair a light color. so im giving up and going to spend the money to fix my hair by someone who knows what they are doing. good luck
